I’m tired of smelling your pot everywhere

Then move out of DC. Bitching about it on an anonymous forum that no one visits isn’t going to change anything.

“Rebel” is a kind word for it. And I’m sure that some smokers are handling it well. But something like 10% of pot smokers are addicted, and they’re probably the ones getting that last desperate toke in the subway tunnel or spending all day hanging out on 7th Street.

LOL nobody gets addicted to marijuana, grandpa.

Weed makes you dumb.

A little weed makes you a little dumber. A lot of weed makes you a lot dumber.

I like always being the smartest person in the room. Although it's easier now than it used to be, because of people like you, PP.

It also makes you less of a tight-ass, which is something you desperately need.

If you can focus long enough, read this: https://www.cdc.gov/marijuana/faqs/marijuana-addiction.html

Cool. Occasional pot use hasn't stopped me from:

- Graduating in the top 9% of my class from a top 20 research university
- Graduating with honors from a top 10 research university for grad school
- Getting my dream job
- Being promoted 4 times in that job in the last 8 years

It's just made the ride a little more fun. Sorry you've missed out.

Imagine what you could have accomplished if you hadn't smoked pot.

Hmm, like what?

I've achieved every goal I've had for myself. I'm in my early 30s and make six figures at a job I love. I have a terrific husband who--despite also smoking pot sometimes--will make $300K this year, with likely an additional $170K from consulting.

Wow! I guess that makes you great

It's a direct response to the PP who said smoking pot makes people stupid and "I like being the smartest person in the room." Also a response to all the posters who clearly think anyone who smokes pot is a loser.

I’m OP that you’re responding to. I’ve tried not to be sanctimonious—I’ve admitted I occasionally smoke pot (at home) and drink wine. But I’ve watched your babyish behavior here, and snark is too sophisticated word for your insults.

I'm not responding to you -- I'm responding to the person who made the absolutely juvenile allegation that pot smokers are dumb and he/she likes "being the smartest person in the room."

I decided to respond to snark and pettiness with snark and pettiness.

I'm enjoying watching all of these posters get their panties in a bunch for being served their own medicine.

I get what the PP meant. I have a coworker who is a big pot smoker. Just like how cigarette smokers stink of cig smoke on their clothes and hair, weed smokers smell the same. This coworker always stinks of pot. We had to office share for a bit when we had coworkers in from overseas who used his section of offices for their stay. Even though he wasn't smoking at work or even vaping outside, he always smelled of weed.

I used to get made fun of as a kid because my parents smoked inside and my clothes always smelled like cigs. When I was in high school I even got called into the counselor's office a few times because teachers reported that I was smoking because I smelled like it when they were near me. Always very embarrassing to explain to them and it took happening twice before I used my own money to buy some rubbermaid totes to keep my clothes in instead of hung in my closet or in my dresser.
