You did not answer it until this post. Sounds like you are inclined to think this is a procedural violation and not much more. I strongly disagree. As do multiple previous posters who have worked in SCIFs. And I think you are kind of right in your overall point in that the sustained outrage makes it difficult to keep being outraged. But I disagree that most of these things are not worthy of the outrage in the first place.

Almost all of Trump's issues would have individually consumed another Presidency.

Since you seem reasonable unlike most of the posters on this forum who are just blindly biased here is a serious thought for you. If the goal is to win the next election, find out the issues that matter to much of middle America and have an agenda that promotes those priorities. Now that is the way to win in 2020.

DP. The election in 2020 is an important one but 2019 is even more important.

At one time, there duels on the floor of the House. Now House members are blithely walking into closed sessions held in a SCIF. The duels were not tolerated. Neither should this behavior.

You are living in a dream world. Trump will not be removed from office. It is all a pointless exercise.

Right. It’s pointless because the Republicans will not do their constitutional duty, correct?

Impeachment and removal from office is a political and legal move. We have a year to the next election and that is when the voters will make a choice.

As it now stands, the Democrats know full well that Trump has an excellent chance of being reelected and impeachment is being used to damage Trump. I doubt it will work based on what we know now.

I just called. Rob Wittman is my Representative. I was polite but stern. They need to hear from us and do the right thing.

You literally do not understand the nation's conscience when you think it's totally cool to disenfranchise millions of voters by attempting to impeach because of a narrative you refuse to show the public.

You are seeking to depose a duly elected President of the United States of America behind closed doors. What did you think was going to happen?

You really believe our voting system - in one or two states - wasn’t hacked. The system is insecure. It’s been proven repeatedly at several hackers’ conferences. Don’t be so naïve.

Trump himself chose to inappropriately withhold the military funds. The Democrats didn't do that to him.

Think about it. We live in a world where the Pentagon was seriously considering suing the White House to force them to release the funds. Trump's former Attorney General just said that abuse of office is not a crime.

Whitaker was wrong.

DP. This isn't about "winning", it's about following the Constitution and the law. Apparently, breaking the law means winning for you.

No, what matters to me is taking action that will bring about a victory for the Democrats. Impeachment will not result in Trump's removal. We can have more faux outrage about the Republicans tolerating Trump and allowing him to remain in office but there is a difference between reality and idealism. Democrats are just as opportunistic as Republicans and let us not pretend otherwise.

Geez. You didn't read Taylor's statement, did you?

Abuse of office need not be a crime and that very charge is a subjective judgement.

You have to be a troll, there's just no other way to explain it. This isn't about impeaching Trump or the 2020 election, this is about 25 GOP representatives who stormed a SCIF and brought their cell phones with them. That is a national security violation. But hey, don't believe me, and go try it yourself. You can jabber on at the police about winning elections while they hog tie you in a police car.

I did .... but I don't take an opening statement at face value. Whether the accusations are against a Republican or Democratic president, they should be subject to stringent questioning in a public forum. Taylor may be right ...... or he may be wrong ...... or it may be something in between.

Then prosecute them if they broke the law. I am not willing to base guilt or innocence on hysteria.

No, that's not what I meant. I meant that Trump is uniquely and extremely opportunistic. This isn't a "both sides" issue.
