Assume that this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Aw now where is your tolerance of different views and religious beliefs

DP. The academic reputation of Liberty is questionable at best. This has nothing to do with an applicant’s faith or personal values.

To be fair, the reputation of a good 50% of the higher ed colleges in the US -- both public and private -- are questionable at best preying on unqualified and unsophisticated (young) people.

But none of those other schools have a high profile leader who is buddies with POTUS and who puts himself out there like he's some great moral leader, only to be shown that he's a big fat hypocrite.

And deVos is complicit to allow those for profit sham universities to continue and get federal funding.

And let's not forget Trump U was part of the sham universities.

They existed under Obama too, but little was done then either. Too much money to be made off gullible young people and federally backed student loans. Wish Biden hadn't backed the 2005 bankruptcy bill that made it almost impossible to discharge student loans in bankruptcy.

Actually the Obama administration was requiring that for profit colleges show graduation rates and level of employment a year after leaving. The religious nonprofit status of Liberty complicated this but I think Obama was coming for them. His administration canceled bad schools ability to receive federal student loans. Without them schools closed their doors.

I had forgotten that Cohen contacted Jerry Jr and suddenly Jerry went from supporting Cruz in 2016 to endorsing and hosting Trump. Cohen said he had very bad pictures of Jerry and his wife. Perhaps Jerry is trying to get ahead of Cohen’s tell all book.

Religious Private? I can’t believe any public system would hire someone with that junk degree, unless they are truly desperate for teachers given Covid. Pre-Covid, our district would get 400+ applications for a single opening. Our principal would only hire those with a BA plus an MA or a BA with an additional certification from a highly regarded institution, none from a degree mill.

PP, are you saying that religious private universities offer junk degrees? If so, the University of Notre Dame and Georgetown University would like a word with you.

I think PP was saying only a religious private school would hire a grad of Liberty U.

PP here - private, 2nd grade. Man, I hope we have a good year.

Liberty's board requested prayer and patience as they seek the Lord’s will and also seek additional information for assessment.

That should take care of all of this.

Falwell had control of the board because he pushed out independent voices and brought in people loyal to him. Also, he was a good money guy. LU was almost bankrupt when he started. He turned it around and made it wealthy, so they owed him.

Sorry PP. The salutatorian of my youngest son's high school class goes to Liberty. The top ten of the class always get into UVA; at least two to W&M, and often Brown and Yale and Stanford. He's a smart young man but just brainwashed, I guess. There have been other students from my kids high school who got full tuition freshman year from Liberty and then nothing, forcing at least a couple to drop out. I live in a conservative VA county. My point is she may be smart enough. Some evangelical parents force their daughters there because of the chastity it forces on the students.

Not due to any genius just by going all in on becoming a cyber scam college.

Trust me you're not delivering breaking news here . It's been obvious to many of us non-whites for eons.

I think that's because evangelical beliefs rest a lot on the concept that the world is engaged in bad things that need to be strenuously avoided. So they really believe that most people are out asking the pool boy to bang their wives or what have you. And then they do it and say, hey, I'm human.

Most people are like, whoa, that activity is dangerous or repulsive and only weirdos do it.

Big difference in mindset. And that explains why evangelical teens lose their virginity almost 2 years earlier than the average teen.
