I have zero issue with a combined solution - everify, agents etc. But if you are willing to throw MORE money at processing illegal entries you should be willing to spend money to stop them in the first place with a physical barrier.

Precisely. Why bother paying for processing, housing, medical care, etc. when you can simply prevent illegal entry from the get-go? It's absurd to say we "need" more facilities along the border to process those who choose to attempt illegal entry. Nope.

Congress has been supporting and funding border barriers for decades, on both sides of the aisle. What they DON'T support, on the other hand, is the hyperbole and massive escalation that Trump wants as a 2020 campaign prop.

I'm really not sure how you can continue to call an actual crisis at the border - documented in two of our nation's top papers - "hyperbole." It is not hyperbole to say that security on our border is now stretched too thin to handle the huge number of immigrants trying to enter the U.S. That is simply fact. Why do you continue to deny it?
