Apparently Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra are getting married this weekend

Ugh I hate haters. All brides are beautiful on their wedding days. I love Kate and Meghan. But I just can’t with Priyanka’s dress. In any other color, it’s a red carpet sexy dress. Not for the wedding! Besides their personalities both seem too conservative for this dress.

Simple answer - she’s paying seven-figures for publicity and had been since she got the US. Trying to make a household name of herself but it doesn’t work like that here. You need the studios doing the work for you.

She has a huge publicity machinery but she is not losing money. She is making most of her money from non-Entertainment ventures. SRK guided her in diversifying when she was close to him. She is bum-chum with the Hollywood studio execs and also music industry stalwarts. Of course, she is also the talent, having won many awards in India for her acting etc. She is leveraging her celebrity to get into a lot of things. She is part owner of sports team and a vineyard/winery too. You can bet that the booze that was served during her wedding was from her brand. She is smart because she puts herself out there and takes the bouquets and brickbats, but does not associate her name with the products so that there is never a negative impact if her celebrity falters. She is dazzling all the business and corporate type with her glamour and hollywood/bollywood connection but in reality she is a very shrewd, very savvy and a very competent business women. She is networking and creating a buzz all the time, not to get customers but to get investors. She has a few more years left as a leading actress (very good looking for 36 year old), but she has a business empire in place. She creates massive win-win situations for her business partners. She does not care if she becomes super successful in Hollywood as a star, because she has already leveraged her connections behind the scenes. She is also massively invested in Bumble. She is known for facilitating connections between high worth individuals. Unbelievably connected and shrewd. She has a huge following outside of US, in India and Middle East. Google how often she is being paid for appearances in Dubai.

You can also bet that most of her wedding expense was gratis from the designers, caterers, event management companies etc. She is peddling her talent and her connections, and she is putting her money behind the scene in companies so that she has a say in the boardrooms. She is actually an Indian Kris Jenner (without sex tapes etc) as far as shrewdness goes.

So what’s her strategy marrying this guy? Can’t she see he’ll cheat on her in 7-10 years? I bet she wanted an set in place a prenuptial agreement. Regardless of who currently has a higher net worth she cannot be in denial that there eventually will be a divorce.

NP, seems clear that it's all for publicity, no? As evidenced by these threads, many people did not previously know who she was. Her highly produced wedding has now landed her on the cover of People.

Totally disappointed in the Christian wedding dress. Expected much better from Ralph Lauren. Agree with a pp that said in any other color it just looks like a red carpet dress.

Love the Hindu wedding lehenga, but would have liked it more in red or pink to contrast from the other wedding dress.

And I like the Christian wedding dress better a different pic. It didn’t look like a full slip in the above posted pic, but it is and looks beautiful that way.

The white dress could have done with more lining. There's a bit of a Lady Di moment in the photo taken of the white wedding dress with the sun in the background.

I read that she’s doing the marriage for publicity too.

Marriage as a partnership for all the right reasons - progeny, social, emotional, economic, sexual and biological reasons! They both have their pre-nups in place and both have done well with this match.

I think she married beneath her with Jonas. Girl with her status and beauty could’ve bagged someone higher status/ more connected.

Who is she?

She is not a household name.

Nick Jonas is.
