Is Boston College a rich kid school?

I think currently ND and BC are superior colleges. I was told the feel of GU is a school that is struggling financially; as in they can't afford building upkeep.

Based on your grammar, you’re the one who is illiterate.

But not wrong.

BC has no fraternities, absolutely no greek system whatsoever, whether official or unofficial. However, it does have Division 1 sports.

sorry you are right, I was typing fast and should of wrote a "bro" culture instead. Not sure how to best describe it but it has that feel of rich spoiled boys. However, lots of our neighbors went there and are very successful good people. It just felt very off to us. Like I said, beautiful campus and a very nice stadium, some love it some hate it. Not a "safety" school though.

That's just silly. There is an UMC mentality at BC, but not a "bro" culture at all. In fact, I hung out with a large group of arty gay guys during my time there...

sorry I do not agree. I do not know when you were there but no way is BC known for "arty" students. No way.

You don't...agree...that I had arty gay guy friends at BC? Do you know me? No, you don't. I graduated in 2007. I did not say BC is "known for 'arty' students." Nevertheless, while there is an UMC, preppy feel to BC, it was diverse enough that there ARE kids who are interested in the arts. I had several friends who majored in Studio Art, Art History, and Art Education programs at BC. My best friend is now a doctor, and was an Art History minor. This does not mean BC is "known" for arty students. It means that there ARE students who are interested in the arts there, and enough of them that it is not a "bro" culture at all.

Most people I know that go there are rich Catholics.

Perhaps, but Georgetown is in a different league from Notre Dame and BC. Miles above.

You're joking right? Do you know where ND is ranked in comparison to Georgetown? Apparently not. And besides the ranking, I can name many reasons why ND is a better school than Georgetown.

You are incorrect; further, you protest too much. Georgetown is a more prestigious, selective, and better school than ND by every single metric.

Agree--Not to mention the huge chasm in name recognition, plus who in their right mind would choose Podunk Indiana over DC (and all the attendant clerkship opportunities, cultural activities, food, and proximity to similar opportunities)? Not even a gray area.

Well, apparently a lot of people. Notre Dame's yield is 55.4%, while Georgetown's is 47.4%.

Georgetown's endowment is $1.66B while Notre Dame's is $13.1B. And Georgetown's enrollment is actually larger.

Holy crap. That’s pretty stark.

Notre Dame's endowment is truly big league, higher than half of the Ivy League schools and higher than Duke, Wash U, Chicago, JHU, etc. Georgetown's endowment is more like a small liberal arts college. There's simply no comparison between the two.

Bill Gates’ kid is going to Chicago though - fingers crossed that he survives the experience and their endowment increases...

Good point. Difference is striking. And plenty of small LACs with bigger endowments per student than Georgetown. Some even bigger than ND’s.

No small liberal arts college has an endowment anywhere near the size of ND

Per student? Haven’t looked at it recently but there were several as of 2017.

Pretty much every selective LAC has an endowment per student than is multiple times larger than Georgetown’s...which begs the question of why is Georgetown’s endowment so low?

Notre Dame's larger endowment in no way makes it a better school than Georgetown. They aren't even close.

I’ll guess you have no intention of providing rationale. Saying stuff on the internet - it’s fun!

Repeating something over and over again does not a true statement make.

Nor does denying it over and over with no substantiation.
