Should McLean Pre-ECNL players consider Spirit DA?

Why not just go back to CCL ....... Has mclean no clout anymore? Was Braddock forced out of CCL, or did they choose that? There are some new CCL clubs that are pretty bad at U11

There are plenty of McLean teams playing in the 'lowly' NCSL.

The point was, McLean's A/B teams had been in CCL for years and are no longer in CCL. NPL is pretty maxed out at 13 or so clubs so NCSL or EDP are the only real landing spots. NCSL, while far from lowly still does not have A teams from the bigger clubs. It is pretty understood thta NCSL has small club A teams, (still very good teams) and the 2-4th teams of larger clubs. Beyond the first division of NCSL the teams are just average.

08 - 38 GF, 2 GA, 7W-0L
07 - 55 GF, 5 GA, 8W-1L

And looking at the results of the two pre-ECNL teams above in NCSL, I think it is reasonable to ask why those teams are in NCSL.

They should move them to EDP, which offers much tougher competition.

EDP is the wild west and does not necessarily offer any better competition. In our region it suffers many of the same problems that NCSL suffers from. You have to travel to far North for the competitive strength of EDP to matter.

You are wrong about EDP. EDP U11 girls South Atlantic Division Premier 1 has teams that are ranked No.1, No.2, No. 7, No. 8, No.10, No. 12, No. 14, and No. 15 in Maryland. Are you saying that NCSL offers a similar level of competition? The scores suggest otherwise. And you don't have to drive too far because EDP teams are located within 1-2 hour drive from McLean (Bethesda, Baltimore, etc).

Mclean should play up an age group. U11s should play in the U11 division. U12's should play U13. Playing teams 1 year older should mostly even it up.

I doubt any parent or player is bragging about the records to anyone. It's a problem that CCL didn't let them stay.

McLean's top team isn't playing in CCL because they have moved their U13 and up teams to ECNL. CCL is a club centric league, so you have to enter all of your top teams (all age groups) into CCL. It's really that simple.

The case is the same for BRYC. They put their U13 and up teams in ECNL, therefore they could not keep their U12 teams in CCL.

So why is Mclean opting to play the U11's and U12s at their own age level in NCSL when clearly it's too easy instead of playing up a year which is an appropriate challenge

There are still some teams with a top team in DA and ECNL that have the second team in CCL 1-Arlington and Loudoun for example. McLean’s second teams weren’t deemed worthy by someone in charge which is why it’s second teams are in CCL2 at U13 and above and NCSL and other leagues at U12 and below.
