You are bizarrely judging a human being based on that person’s political affiliations. That suggest a lack of perspective, no?

So bizarre! Judging someone based on their choice to use their political influence to make other people's lives worse!

What's next? Will we start judging people based on their actions? On the things they say? On the crimes they commit? Is nothing sacred anymore?!

I’ll assume fir the sale of argument you are a troll because o can’t believe anyone can be this dense. Your sweeping and incorrect characterization of Republicans trying to make other peoole’s lives worse is what’s tripping you up.

^ not a troll

The problem with your characterization is that it's wrong.

Whatever you may think about Republicans or Democrats, their end goal is actually very similar: maximize the happiness of all humans. The disagreement isn't on the goal, but how to get there. Republicans mostly see this and this is why the general feeling of Republicans towards Democrats is that the later is misinformed. Democrats somehow think that Republicans have different end goals, that instead of maximizing the happiness of all humans, Republicans are for oppression and suffering - and in this light it's easy to agree then that people working towards such goals are indeed evil.

If the racists think Trump and the GOP support racists...
If the sexists think Trump and the GOP supports sexists...
If the anti-semites think Trump and the GOP supports anti-Semites...

As long as they are anti-trump, I can tolerate Republicans.

I've seen plenty of Republicans who think Democrats are evil. Usually they call whatever Democrats want "socialism" or "Marxism" then tie that to repressive Stalinist or Maoist regimes.

Does that include tithing? Church offerings should not count; the giver gets the vast majority of that back in church programming, facilities, etc.

Exactly. Paying for your minister’s private jet <> charity

Church donations is the largest donation for republican voters. But, they love using that BS to say that they give more to charity. Sure they do, charities that they sit in the pews every other week.

You can look at a Republican tax plan that sends all its benefits to the rich and say this?

Or look at a Republican lawsuit to take health care away from people with pre-existing conditions and say this?

Sorry, the true goal of the Republican party is "f you, I've got mine"

No matter how many times people like you want to say otherwise, when the actual GOP legislation is written it always is about making sure that the people on top stay on top and the people on the bottom stay on the bottom

Anonymous wrote:OP, republicans are not bad or evil people. They view things from a different perspective disagree with you on many things but that does not make them evil. Your characterization of Republican positions, such as "taking away people's healthcare", is grossly inaccurate and therefore is the cause of your mental state of incredulity. Republicans don't want to take away people's healthcare, they just want people to choose and pay for their own healthcare. But if you choose to continue to believe that Republicans indeed want to take away people's healthcare, well, living in ignorance is your choice.

A distinction without a difference in any practical sense. BTW, doubletalk like what I bolded is one of the reasons we don't respect you.

OP, I am a democrat, and know many kind and nice Republicans. We're even good friends!

I do not know a single kind and nice Trump supporter, however. Those categories are not the same.

Average voters vote their values and perceptions, not the details of legislation. If you think corporate tax cuts help the economy, you'll probably vote Republican, even if the money doesn't directly benefit you. Most people do not know enough economics to know if it's true or not.

Maybe Republican leaders know it doesn't help and are lying, maybe they really do believe it. But don't assume average Republicans share the same goals or knowledge as the leaders.

True.

Also true, the Trump GOP is not the GOP of "conservatives."

So they have to make a choice. Many in the House and a couple in the Senate chose to retire rather than embrace Trumpism.

What is left today is Trumpism, plain and simple.

If you are with the GOP now (not 2016) then you embrace Trumpism full on.
