You are bizarrely judging a human being based on that person’s political affiliations. That suggest a lack of perspective, no?
So bizarre! Judging someone based on their choice to use their political influence to make other people's lives worse! What's next? Will we start judging people based on their actions? On the things they say? On the crimes they commit? Is nothing sacred anymore?!
The problem with your characterization is that it's wrong. Whatever you may think about Republicans or Democrats, their end goal is actually very similar: maximize the happiness of all humans. The disagreement isn't on the goal, but how to get there. Republicans mostly see this and this is why the general feeling of Republicans towards Democrats is that the later is misinformed. Democrats somehow think that Republicans have different end goals, that instead of maximizing the happiness of all humans, Republicans are for oppression and suffering - and in this light it's easy to agree then that people working towards such goals are indeed evil.
You can look at a Republican tax plan that sends all its benefits to the rich and say this? Or look at a Republican lawsuit to take health care away from people with pre-existing conditions and say this? Sorry, the true goal of the Republican party is "f you, I've got mine" No matter how many times people like you want to say otherwise, when the actual GOP legislation is written it always is about making sure that the people on top stay on top and the people on the bottom stay on the bottom
Average voters vote their values and perceptions, not the details of legislation. If you think corporate tax cuts help the economy, you'll probably vote Republican, even if the money doesn't directly benefit you. Most people do not know enough economics to know if it's true or not. Maybe Republican leaders know it doesn't help and are lying, maybe they really do believe it. But don't assume average Republicans share the same goals or knowledge as the leaders.
