Janney incident

Parents shouldn’t have sent email. Lots of reasons, not the least of which is potential backlash from other parents if their version proves absurd. Do you want to send your kid or have their kid at your house if it turns out they ruined someone’s life over nothing? I don’t. Also, IANAL, but seems legally risky too.

Janney screwed up too. Half baked email that could be “kid kicks adult, adult pushes kid away” or could be “Kid raped in closet”. They needed to make it clearer. They also needed to include information about how they train staff, the processes for validation, background checks, etc. Even *uber* - of all companies - knows to point to these policies when they have something happen.

I’m a happy Janney parent but man, the school handled this with the finesse of a 13 year old dry jumping a tree stump.

I agree, the school (particularly JAC) handled it well. I think the recent email from the principal was clear.

The Executive Director is a complete idiot!! She really shouldn't have sent this email out with the assumption of guilt.My daughter is fine at Janney. I think it will be something if these allegations aren't true. You just can't try to damage someone's life and get away with it!!!

Well the principal sent out a letter saying there will be no personnel changes at Janney for the time being. If the allegations turn out to be false I hope the employee is rehired by JAC and reimbursed for lost income.

If the parents thought something happened then they should have took the kid to the ER for a check up. While there they should have called the cops to back up their claims with a police report. As a parent I would have did that first. But I think the kid is not being truthful about what really happened. Furthermore, the kid has a history of these incidents!! I know because my child had an incident with the kid.

The school needs to send out a clarifying letter with details after they investigate. Especially if the employee did nothing wrong.
