Why is Blake Lively so overrated?

Winona Ryder had a nose job too as a teen - it's not that earth shattering.

Actually, I think the harder thing is to name a celebrity who HASN'T had a nose job. I can't think of one.

Chloe Sevigny!

And then I saw pictures before her plastic surgery.
Oh.

Her plastic surgery was so good I’m inspired to get work done myself!

First, who cares if someone enjoyed sex with whomever they chose and as many people as they chose while single. The double standard and slut shaming here is appalling.

Second those of you hating on her sound pathetically jealous. She’s perfectly harmless and, as another poster said, kind of goofy. I’m guessing many of you are the type who say all blonde blue eyed women are boring or not pretty. It’s hilarious.

Seriously.

Did you see the film, The Rhythm Section, where she essentially played a female Bourne? She was fantastic in that movie. I was disappointed it didn't do well and become like the Bourne movies, a franchise.

What is underrated for Blake are her excellent strategic moves since being one of Harvey's girls. She knew that staying in the spotlight is hard for cookie cutter blonde it-girls once they pass 25, and she needed a non-acting angle. Her Goop-esque lifestyle guru ambition (Preserve) was never a huge hit, so she pivoted to a much better choice: selling her relationship. She picked a good other half -- Ryan physically transitioned from hot young guy to cute dad type well, and Deadpool helped solidify his image as hip and snarky.

Also, Blake expertly avoided the public catching onto her on-set romance with Ryan (and thus her being the other woman in his divorce from Scarjo) by having a very public fauxmance with Leonardo DiCaprio before she and Ryan made their relationship public. Scarjo's no dummy, so I hope she took him to the cleaners in exchange for keeping her mouth shut all these years.

Pure fabrication. Johansson and Reynolds were married from 2008-2010. Johansson has stated on multiple occasions that she romanticized marriage and was not ready at the time, and has married two other times since her divorce from Reynolds. Green Lantern, the film starring Reynolds and Lively, was in 2011 after the split and final divorce of Johansson and Reynolds.

Try again. Green Lantern filmed from March to August 2010. Ryan and Scarlett separated later that year. Their divorce was finalized in July 2011, just before the movie was released.

And if you think every word a celebrity says is true just because they say it, maybe it’s best that I let you keep that fantasy.

Who is slut shaming anyone here?

We went thru this so many times - there's hardly any female in Hollywood that didn't have a nose job. It almost seems like this is a mandatory procedure and it includes making one's nostrils really small

I went to a UMC de facto Jewish high school. Literally every girl got a nose job around age 14 or 15. It's really not a big deal at all.

I went to an actual Jewish school from nursery through high school. Only two kids in my grade- one girl and one boy- had a nose job, and they really needed it. It’s not totally nothing.

It's a big deal to expect to be considered gorgeous (or natural beauty!), when in reality one actually had to buy themselves a new nose.

I agree

Why is the gender of their 4th baby this big secret? They are annoying.

Nepotism.

I think of her as that girl from gossip girl who's acting career never really took off but who married awesome Ryan Reynolds and who is now kind of famous for being famous and seems like a good mom and fun person. I don't think anyone is like, OMG Blake Lively!!!

IT's her homebody, home-making thing. She was a huge Martha Stewart fan and was on her show a few times. They are neighbors.

Blake has her own mixer line. She is known to be a phenomenal baker. She and Ryan wanted a huge family and she has had 4 pregnancies in the spotlight while looking fabulous. And she is very stylish and was a Met Gala superstar for years.

Her relationship with Ryan and their banter on Instagram, etc., is all part of the draw. She is friends with very famous people---bestie Taylor Swift. She used to be photographed a lot at Taylor's infamous Rhode Island 4th of July parties where she was one of the only marrieds, and only one pregnant or with a child.

Taylor introduced her baby's name in a song. She is a godmother. She often will go out single with Ryan and Blake.

She was great in The Shallows, All I See Is You, and Age of Adelaide.

I think she's under-rated because she's pretty.

Nicole Kidman comes to mind. She's an okay actress, but she's a classic beauty with an Australian accent.

I disagree. Nicole Kidman is a phenomenal actress, not just ok. And she is not a “classic beauty” in any sense. She’s unique.

+1

Nicole Kidman is in an entirely different league from Blake Lively from an acting perspective. And I quite like Blake and think she's beautiful. But she's no Nicole Kidman.
