Granted, many of these experiences with dying relatives could be due to hallucinating from hypoxia, but we don’t really know for sure. Many people who are dying see other dead relative and friends towards the end, it’s relatively common. |
When I was a teenager 20 years ago!, my friend and I snuck out of our houses in the middle of the night one summer. We were standing at the corner of an elementary school smoking a cigarette and talking. It was a quiet night and there was little moonlight. There were parking lot lights which slightly lit where we were standing so we could see each other. Out of nowhere, we heard a loud, primal roar which seemed to be coming at us from both sides of the corner we were at. In my imagination, I pictured it coming from a large man-bear or something just...huge and powerful. You know about fight, flight or freeze? I was frozen, but my friend grabbed my arm and pulled me, running faster than I knew she could. I felt like a kite flying behind her. We were in terror! We got home safely and didn't speak of it again.....until the following Halloween.
We were hanging out with neighborhood friends telling scary stories and we told ours. My boyfriend's face went pale. He told us that one night over the summer he was sleeping with the window open and was awoken by a roar coming in through the window! He said he was scared and convinced himself it was a nightmare about Bigfoot, lol. |
Me too. But I am the person who knows how to shut down all the feeling and how to erase a memory. So I am wondering if I am just blocking everything away. |
It’s near death experiences, read up on it. It’s very interesting. |
I nearly drowned in the ocean when I was 10. I believe I had a near death experience. I was underwater and my lungs were filling up. It was dark and I was panicking when, suddenly, it looked like the sun was shining in the sea. I felt like everything was going to be ok, whether I survived or not. I felt so peaceful and my heart was overflowing with love. I woke up on the beach where I was resuscitated. I have never feared death since then. |
I love the ocean story. I was also in the room when my loved one passed away.. it was so lovely, calm, and peaceful. They died with such courage that I am no longer afraid.
These stories make me think of the larger discord among us right now, at this moment.. with things (perhaps) being so connected, what is the deeper meaning behind 2020? This is a reading from a 2020 horoscope that was written in 2019.. I am awaiting the for the "mythical birth" ---------------------------------- In January 2020, Saturn and Pluto conjoin in the stern sign of Capricorn. The last time this happened was 500 years ago, in 1518 which was when the Protestant Revolution began which resulted in a radical period of societal restructuring. Saturn rules structure and Pluto rules transformation—the demolition of the old which makes way for the new. These two planets are more collective than personal in their action when they join forces and they are major game changers. The motto for 2020 is all about letting go of the old and taking on new challenges. The more we try to cling to the past, the harder our new paths will be. Pluto rules death and rebirth and it is all about facing reality Pluto’s planetary symbol is the phoenix—that mythical birth that rises from its own ashes |
So you think things that have not happened to you personally are probably not real or possible? Interesting criterion to believe in things. |
Stupid question for those of you who’ve had experiences with loved ones who’ve passed...I often think about my grandparents and say that I miss them and would love to see/hear them. But I “say” this all in my head, never out loud. Do they know that we’re thinking of them without actually talking to or about them? |
when I was a kid I had all kinds of extremely vivid dreams, flying dreams that seemed real but never paid much attention and this went by the wayside.
When I was 32, I was staying in a hotel in New Jersey, the night before I was going to interview for a job at a university. I woke up in the middle of the night with fear clutching my chest to see this man, standing next to the bed, looking at me. dressed in sort of 40s clothing. Simple, plain but wore a hat. I was panicked, frozen for a little bit and then turned on the light and there was no one there. It just hit me now, right now writing this out, that I was interviewing at the university where my grandfather had taught for many, many years. Maybe it was him?! |
Maybe, or you saw the image when you were in that wake/dream state. |
Did it look like your grandfather? Would he have been that age in the 40s? |
Bump. Keep the stories coming! |
Not sure if this is paranormal but within my family we have many birthdays, about 7 family members, on the same day and within that same week, maybe not paranormal, but very odd. |
I have varying degrees of sleep paralysis. This sounds like it. |
In my family, many birthdays, anniversaries and deaths are on the 13th of various months. |
