I posted for weeks that a Frick vote was a waste/ a vote for Elrich.

So dumb.

And for people who decide who to vote for based on DCUM anonymous comments, that might have mattered.

NP but it wasn’t just anonymous commenters on dcum that pointed out this was a 2 man race between Elrich and Blair. If people just used basic common sense they could have figured that out for themselves if they didn’t want to believe local journos. So stupid.

That’s right the WaPo said it too. And we know they didn’t have a horse in this race...

Also Bethesda Best, wamu, wtop, etc. Or are those all also in on the conspiracy?

I just don’t think it was as obvious to your run of the mill Dem voter as you think it was. There were so many damn candidates in multiple races that it was hard enough filtering through their profiles and positions. I admittedly didn’t realize how kooky Elrich was until I really started digging in. If it werent for him I would have simply voted for who I liked best because none of the others were polarizing enough to me.

No. Ficker is nuts. Elrich is just somebody I really, really do not support. In Elrich v. Ficker, Elrich is definitely the lesser of two evils. Same for Blair v. Ficker.

Are they still counting? Or on vacation? I’ve seen no count updates...

Counting will resume Thursday and Friday. We should have a good idea by end of the day Friday, but they have over 5000 ballots to go. These represent provisional ballots cast on election day and absentee ballots posted on or before election day but received after whatever cutoff date they used for the first round of absentee ballots. And a recount is all but assured, so we won't have a concrete answer for a few weeks, unless the pattern breaks and one of them sweeps the raining ballots. I don't see that happening, but who knows?

THIS.

Ficker has made almost all of his money putting drunk drivers back on the roads. And he does that in such a disgraceful manner that he has come very close to being disbarred.

Summarize this link for busy people?

“In the present case, arising itself out of three different complaints, the hearing judge found, and the majority concurs, that he exhibited incompetence, lack of diligence, and failure to communicate with his client in the Robertshaw matter; ?lack of diligence and conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice in the Paulk matter; ?and that respondent had failed to place an unearned fee in a separate escrow account, had committed conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice in the Ponto case.

If disbarment is not warranted in this case for these types of issues, with a respondent with this history, it will never be warranted. ? If it is never going to be warranted in these types of cases, we should modify the rules to say so. ? I would disbar.”

The wait is killing me here

They will count over the weekend also. Elrich's lead is shrinking. If he gets the nomination, I'm voting Ficker.

Why not Floreen?

Different poster. I'm absolutely voting for Floreen if she's eligible to run.

The numbers haven't moved since Tuesday. I was hoping for at least daily updates.
