I have friends with kids at both schools and that doesn't seem to be the case. The boys seems very bright at both schools. |
The person with a chip on his/her shoulder!
I'm not sure you have a chip on your shoulder as much as you have alot of information and opinions. I'm still curious about how you have developed these insights. I assume you have taught at St. Albans (or somewhere at the Close)? Have you experienced your own children going there? Not trying to out you but just interested in your own education philosophy and how that colors your pespectives about St. Albans, NCS, etc. Thank you for contributing. |
Inquiring minds would like to know typically what percentage of the Landon entering class: 1) applied to STA; 2) was rejected from STA; 3) was accepted but declined to go to STA. |
I can only say that I know of no boys who were accepted at both, and went to Landon. I know of no boys who were accepted by STA, and rejected by Landon. I know many boys who were rejected by STA, and accepted by Landon. You can make any inferences you'd like. I'm just saying what I know. |
My son was accepted at Landon and St Albans. We generally had positive views of each, but he is clearly more of a Landon boy. These are very different school communities. |
Didn't Landon have ten or so boys accepted to Yale this year? |
We're interested in a single-gender school for our son beginning in 4th. Can you please elaborate on what you mean by "clearly more of a Landon boy"? |
I'm going to say a Landon boy is a bit more of a sports boy. St. Albans is notoriously acacademically rigorous. |
I am wondering why anybody is thinking of how to get in to a particualar school...
Why are all of you projecting your own ambitions on your sons? (I say sons because, clearly, since you're looking at this site) |
It's not an "ambition". We just strongly believe in the benefits of single sex schools for our son and our daughters. |
Oh, and just to add, it's not just St. Albans. We would be looking at all local single sex schools for our children. |
My son was accepted by both St. Albans and Landon and immediately chose Landon. We have not regretted the decision at all. |
"Accepted"? Not sure, but seriously doubt it as Landon rarely sends anyone to Yale these days. |
Don't know how many were accepted. But the website says that 4 matriculated at Yale from 2002-2006, and none in 2007. Looks like the main school is UVA |
There are definitely Landon boyS attending Yale next year. |
