Winston Churchill Xanax Drug Bust In School Bathroom...

Churchill was the basis for 90210 and The Wire, apparently.

Why is a 19 year old in high school, shouldn't he be a sophomore in college?

Don't like the idea of a 13 year old girl in school with a 19 year old man. He is too old to be in high school.

Conversely, a 13 year old should be in middle school.

Well, we all have our worries. But my kid, who is a girl who did early entry to kindergarten and is therefore the youngest in her grade, will be 13 for all of 2 weeks of high school. The possibility that she might be in the same school hallway as a male 19-year-old during those 2 weeks is not very high on my personal list of concerns.

He turned 19 in December. Should all students who repeat a grade then only be allowed to advance to 11th grade? Otherwise, they could be 19 in high school. Are you aware that kindergartners also go to the same school as 5th graders, who could be 6 years older? And don't even think about schools that's that are K-8!

It's evidently ok for 19-year-old women to be in school with 13-year-olds (boys as well as girls) -- or, in any case, I've never read any complaints on DCUM about it. So it's only male students who repeat a grade who shouldn't be allowed to graduate from high school. I guess.

This episode is just more evidence why the principal at this school needs to go. Not sure what it is going to take for the School Board to decide that she is not capable of running this school.

I have kids at Hoover and Churchill. They have seen drug deals go down in the hallways, stairways, and on school property but outside the building. Why doesn't the school administration, school security, or the resource officers regularly review camera videotapes? I doubt the dealers know where all the cameras are. Drug sniffing dogs checking backpacks would also solve the problem.

The issue is that they would have to do this at all schools in the county. My kids go to Churchill also and know kids from lots of other schools in the county, both W and non-W, and they say they hear from their friends at these schools that this stuff goes on all of the time. It's definitely a problem, but not limited to Churchill by any means. One of my kids best friends goes to Blair and he said they have a drug and gang problem over there. None of it is good stuff.

You people are so naive.

I went to Academy of the Holy Cross in the mid-80s. The good drugs were sold at top dollar prices over there.

Where have you been? This is shocking?

Such fools you are! Open your eyes and look around for once.

As a parent, I know there are drugs in my child's school. I just wished MCPS would wake up and do more to prevent it.
