Sorry, haven't read all the posts yet. But this Slate article published online back on 10/30 making the case that Trump had a server set up privately to communicate with the Russian Alfa Bank was mind blowing to me at the time. I wondered why it had no traction. Seems this latest CNN info is related.

I am a nothing burger compared to Trump but I used to travel quite a bit and I was always wary when I was in certain countries as to whether my phone was bugged, my laptop was likely to be hacked and whether there were cameras and bugs in the hotel room where I was staying. I conducted myself accordingly.

Trump had to have known that he was vulnerable to the same dangers of being under surveillance so stuff like the "golden showers" just seems really unlikely.

This is a man who was recorded boasting about grabbing women by the pussy. And who apparently on the set of the Apprentice said all sorts of other vile things that are on video somewhere but the producers are too chicken to release it because of Trump's threats. So no, I don't think he has enough restraint not to do something stupid in other countries. He shows all the time that he has no restraint - look at his twitter account. How secure do you even think that account is? What happens if some hostile group hacks into it and writes something that sets off the North Koreans, who decide to act on it before learning whether it was Trump or a hacker?

That is what does not make sense to me. It is almost too sensational.

Before the report had no real credibility. Now it has the stamp of approval of the US Intelligence services. That is the only change, the importance of which is debatable.

This may explain Trump's disparaging of the intelligence agencies and trying to plant seeds of distrust among the public regarding credibility of the agencies.
