A sex offender was caught two days ago in the daytime in front of an Indiana courthouse (popular Pokemon Go site) playing the game with a sixteen year old. Link: http://wgntv.com/2016/07/13/sex-offender-caught-playing-pokemon-go-with-boy-outside-courthouse/ |
| Another dead body was found by Pokemoners. There is no safe place to hide bodies now! |
I honestly don't see how the game is in any way responsible for that. The registered sex offender was playing a game with his phone, in front of a courthouse (i.e. right out in public) and a 16 year old was also playing the same game? So they were talking to each other about it? If he's not supposed to interact with kids, he's not supposed to interact with kids -- not supposed to talk with them, play games with them etc. What does it have to do with the specific game? |
Well at least check to be sure you aren't dumping it right in the middle of a Pokestop. Jeez, how many dead bodies are out there that we don't know about? |
| It will be the opening scene of a Bones episode this fall, I guarantee. |

I haven't read all the responses so please forgive if this is a repeat. I've been playing this with my teen & tween, and it really helps to turn your sound off on the side of your smartphone. If you do that, it vibrate-buzzes in your hand when a Pokemon character shows up. That way you can keep your head up and pay attention to where you are, then stop when it buzzes and looks down.
In terms of tracking with the grid, yes you need to look down more for that but you can glance down and then pay attention to where you are, then glance down and then pay attention to where you are, to see if you're getting closer to the Pokemon you want. But tracking is more of a pain in the neck anyway and definitely not guaranteed to work. Better to just pick a potentially successful area, use an incense, turn off your phone sound and start walking with your eyes front, waiting for your phone to vibrate. |
We've been doing drop-off at a high school for summer camp the last 2 weeks, and I've noticed that there are no Pokemon characters or Pokestops on the school grounds. I'll bet that schools are off-limits grounds when school is in session. |
Just posted that about schools and then saw this response. Oh well. You'd think that schools in session would be non-active. Only after hours. |
Well, they could potentially do this if they put a lure module on a pokestop. I can see that pulling kids in. |
The other thing you can do to help is create a GoogleMail account you only use for this. So you wouldn't care even if they're glancing at your account. There's only spam. |
Same here. We are in Centreville and every single "Civil War Blah Blah happened here" sign is a stop. Finally, history has a purpose
(kidding on that last part, for those who don't get jokes. dont want to spread rumors that us country folk are all ignorant). |
No stops in suburbia? Near my office in Fairfax there are about 30 stops. |
And I would have gotten away with it if it weren't for you meddling kids and your stupid Arcanine! |
