America should be a-okay with how things are done in other places. That's why I don't interfere when people from Iraq don't educate their girls and make them cover up like second-class citizens. I also give the thumbs-up to the Somalis here who have allowed their daughters to be genitally mutilated.

Oh yeah, no boxed gifts is right up there with those examples. The fact that we have an out of control gun culture and is in the business of regulating what a woman can and cannot do with her body is totally normal though.

It goes like this.

1. There is a post about a something that happens in another culture.

2. There are numerous posts disparaging that culture.

3. Some of those posts are written in a manner that looks down upon the other culture and touts their culture as better than.

4. People from other cultures then point out flaws in this culture- people in glass houses sort of thing.

Thus the thread evolves. It could have just ended with a simple non judgmental answer. But that's never the case.
