What can I use on my mailbox to stop dogs from peeing on it?

Small signs that says keep dogs off the grass. Then use the cayenne pepper. If it irritates the dogs, then maybe the dog owners will learn to observe the signs. For the person who says that they send their dog to pee on the dog sign, it would serve them right for their dog to irritated by the pepper.

You can get big containers for cheap at warehouse stores or online.

I have had this same problem with people walking their dogs by my property and allowing them to pee on my mailbox and landscaping around the perimeter of my property. I spend time and money (not to mention the taxes I pay) to make my property look nice. I don't appreciate you letting your dog use it as his/her personal toilet. When I work on my landscaping, I don't want to be putting my hands into your dog's poop or pee. Why don't you curb your dog on your own property? If you see your dog stopping to do it's business on my property, give the leash a yank and train your dog not to do these things. I see too many dog owners just simply stop walking and idly watch their animal while it messes on my mailbox or landscaping. How about I come to your house and piss on your mailbox or where your kids might play? Don't want that? Now you know how I feel.

The same neighbor who feels fine about using our front lawn as his dogs poop area never lets the dog poop on HIS lawn. I’m tired of paying for the pepper but it works.

We have a dog walker who walks big dogs in the neighborhood. For some reason, she enjoys heading to my house with her charges. She is really, really, really bad at telling when we are not home. In fact, she is always wrong. I like the pepper idea. I would not mind videoing her and having her fined. It is deliberate and awful that she goes through so much trouble.

I’ve come out with my phone. For some reason Sunday morning is their favorite time. Particularly annoying as they could take a few more steps and be in the park next to our house.

Dogs urinating on lawns also cause lots of large yellow burned spots on the lawn. It’s not just about the smell. Dog owners need to think about that. I have dogs and I don’t let them urinate on other people’s mailboxes or the surrounding lawn areas.

I use pepper-simple kitchen black pepper. The problem is-must frequently re-apply due to rain etc.

It's pretty darn inconsiderate to let your dog pee on someone else's mailbox. Grass? Go ahead, but not a mailbox.

I like the pepper idea.

My mailbox REEKS of dog pee and my neighbor is proud of letting his dog pee on the neighbors yards. I don’t see him letting his dog pee and poop on HIS yard. I’ve filmed him with my phone.

Not only do I not let my dogs paws in other people’s lawns, I also don’t let them on the city owned curb side lawns if it’s noticeable someone takes the time to beautify it. I definitely observe any no poop signs I see anywhere. People have nerve.

The moon?

You can walk your dog almost anywhere. Just don’t allow them to poop or piss on someone else’s lawn. It’s gross, and can put holes in the grass. Stepping in it and bringing it inside your house is another great joy!

Walk it in your own freaking yard first and make it relieve itself.

Keep your animal waste on your own property. Feel free to walk your dog
on a short leash on the sidewalk.

If you can't afford property sufficient for an animal, you shouldn't have a pet.

As if you can control a dog's pee. They pee to mark, not because they have to go.

My dog pees on cement only. I always feel bad that she is peeing on the sidewalk. She won't go on grass at all. Not sure which is worse.

You are. You’re the worst.

What is so hard to understand about not bothering others with your dog.

You could be the ass who posts the "No dog pee" sign next to your mailbox? Then again, it's not even your property and it's in the median.

I'm a live and let live kind of person who would ignore the smell at the mail box but I have to disagree with you on the bold section. We had 2 dogs and a very small fenced in yard a few years ago. We'd let the dogs out in the fenced area about 11:30 pm for the last time at night. I love our dogs but in the summer their pee really did stink!

I'm planting prickly pear and roses around my mailbox since a small fence apparently wasn't enough of a hint. They killed all of my landscaping there last year.

They aren’t just peeing bc their bladders are full, they pee to leave their scent along the walk. My pup can relieve herself at home but still likes to squirt sling her route.

I am putting up a sign an putting down cayenne. I am tired of my landscaping being ruined and our neighbors outdoor cats using our garden as a litter box.
