--pure breed pet. It's a rescue. I love the breed.
--Private school. Really? You think I'm sending my kids to private school to impress people? That's kinda nuts.
--Mass market luxury cars. We have those, but I like the way they drive. They're not meant to impress. They're very comfortable. Yes, there really is a difference between driving a Honda and driving an Audi.
--Vacation home in St. Barth. It's pretty there, and the kids can practice their French. It's not to impress, and we don't talk about it. Mustique, yikes. Can non royalty even buy there? Anyone can buy on St. Barth. Some prefer OBX, some MV, some Rehoboth. But Mustique??

I have to agree on the other stuff--no big logos, your clothing really shouldn't be a walking billboard for a designer. Labels belong on the inside. But if you like expensive stuff (and you can afford it), more power to you. I don't think everyone does things to impress others.

Oooh, I forgot one. I don't highlight my hair or get mani/pedis to impress, I do it because I look better that way! Nobody wants to see scraggly nails and my gray hair!

You would probably die of shame if you ever heard how the Europeans trash the tanned, manicured, highlighted, tank-driving foreigners with their loud children speaking bad French. They can spot you a mile away. But good for you for trying to teach your children about different cultures.

Umm, why should thus poster care what Europeans think of her?

She shouldn't, yet she is bragging about her vacation home on Saint Barth and her multilingual children as status symbols. Maybe her local friends consider her high status here, but being multilingual is not a status symbol to the people there. Neither are pedicures and highlights and flashy cars. She sounds ridiculous and provincial.

Amen!!! That dumb logo looks like a hubcap on apparel and accessories. "Hey! Look at me. I spent $750 for a purse and $300 for ballet flats!"

not tacky at all

Ummmm...just because you own them, it doesn't change the fact that those giant logos are really, really tacky.

They are some fugly-ass sandals. That damn logo is just the worst in the country.

I think the sandles are cute but I am not familiar w Tory burch or whoever ski wouldn't have been impressed.
What I do notice is damn, you have some seriously long finger toes!! Woah!

The sandles are quite horrible and since I do not follow brands and designers, I did not even know that this cost a ton of money.

However, I liked her long toes. I can bet that she also has really long and slim fingers and her hands must look very pretty and feminine.

Well, what you (or another pp) actually said was that she would "die of shame" as a result of what Europeans thought of her. Also. How is it bragging to state your reasons for choosing luxury items on a thread primarily about luxury items.

I bet she is 6"2 and about 190lbs. Your toes are soooo long but not ugly at all.

Don't you know that all Europeans are more sophisticated than we are? Everything they do is better.

You have clearly never driven a BMW. Worth it.

Worth every penny! We own them & we don't seem them as status symbols, just as a quality vehicle that drives amazing.

Luxury cars that drive up to crap houses. Enough said.

Pretending you don't see someone when in fact, you are really being rude and acting like you have no parents. Again.

Pretending you don't "want" something, when really, you don't have a pot to pssss in, and we all know it, anyway.

Ranking on others that have more than you. Because you are jealous. period.

Sheeple clothes with monogram shtttt on it. Grow up.

Got my shelter dog from a shelter. She happens to be purebred. As do many shelters dogs. You think purebreds don't end up in shelters too?

+1 - We got our lab from Animal Rescue.

Not knocking BMWs - I've never driven one. But of course they're status symbols. There are plenty of quality vehicles that "drive amazing" for less money.
