Upscale women do you now buy clothes for yourself at Target?

I've never seen any actual clothes I'd wear at any of our local targets. Not trying to be a snob - I'd totally buy them if I saw them. But the Bailey's and Route 50 targets in FC don't have much. I do buy things for my daughter, and I'll buy underwear there.

What do you mean when you say upscale? Money? Upbringing? Taste? Style?
I grew up wealthy and we have high HHI, private schools, etc. Although we do hate clubs so have no idea what's going on there.
My mom always wore designers, but also vintage, second hand and tailor custom made. I was brought up to believe that money won't buy you good manners, taste or style. I can shop designers on daily basis but why would I? It's such a waste of my time and money. I'd like to continue being wealthy and not throw my money away on expensive shit that will fall apart after two months.
So whatever that means, I'm rather upscale and do shop at Target for myself. I really like their maxi dresses, skirts, t-shirts and cardigans, all held up much better than much more expensive stuff. My problem with these kind of stores is that their sizes are really large, I'm 2-4 in designer clothing and sometimes even xs at Target is just too big.

I buy groceries once a week, why not clothes? At Target I can one stop shop. Fast, convenient.

You are everything that is wrong with this world.

Please please consider donating more. The place you donate to will decide if the clothes are too ruined to pass on. Most likely many people could benefit from what you are throwing away.

Some snobby jerks on this site. Cheaper, clothes are in. Quantity and variety rule.

Take some of the money you saved and buy a grammar book. Open it to the commas chapter.

I think a lot depends on the type of material of clothes and the body type of the woman. The cotton and jersey simple dresses at Target are perfect for the summer and look great if you accessorize them with fun jewelry. Throw in a killer handbag and no one would guess where the clothes came from. I found a denim shirt dress there last year that I was constantly complimented on last summer. Really is all about how you style the outfit.

So what? Is it amoral to wear inexpensive jeans?

Yes

True. Hard to say it's immoral though....

Not really. It's a huge waste of human capitol that takes an enormous toll on the environment.
Children are working in factories to make all that cheap crap so that PP doesn't have to do laundry. A huge amount of carbon has to be expended to make it and bring it to the US. If a buy a Brooks Brothers blouse and wear it until it is no longer wearable, then that cost happens once in a few years. If PP buys a new blouse, wears it once and throws it away, then that cost has to happen every week.

It's immoral. It's bad for humans and bad for the planet.

Yes. One of the reasons that I shop so much at Target now. I'd rather spend $7 on a disposable top than $75 on a disposable top.

I buy Brooks Brothers, Ralph Lauren, Lilly Pulitzer, sometimes Eddie Bauer. I buy cardigans from Land's End. None of the clothing that I buy from them is disposable. They are well made and last forever.

You clearly don't know the difference between quality and flash.

Those brands scream D.C. helmet hair.

So find brands that are high quality and that you like to wear.
