Chipotle headache

Oh my god really? You're digging up a half decade old thread to keep spouting your MSG nonsense?

News flash: Chinese Restaurant Syndrome doesn't exist. "MSG sensitivity" MIGHT exist in a tiny percentage of the population, but YOU almost certainly don't have it.

Your "reaction" is psychosomatic. Somewhere along the line you made an erroneous connection between headaches and Chipotle and now you have convinced yourself it will happen so it does.

Want proof? Do you get the same symptoms after you eat ANY of the following? tomatoes, potatoes, parmesan, cheddar, or roquefort cheese, mushrooms, grapes, peas, premade broth or stock, ham, oysters, soy sauce, walnuts, cabbage, shrimp, or green tea? Well guess what, if you don't it's all in your head because they're ALL packed with MSG.

Why would this eliminate it? MSG can be added to anything. It's especialyl common as an additive in sauces, etc.

It's much more likely that salt is the culprit than MSG, to be honest.

Chipotle is a sodium bomb.

Totally unrelated but Dasani water and other similar enhanced water brands (smart water etc.) give me the most horrible headaches that lasts several days. Never had a problem with chipotle, but anything is possible in terms of what your body doesn't agree with.

After their problems with food sanitation, they started making more food offsite in big commercial facilities. My guess would be that the food from these facilities has more MSG in it.

I get the same thing whenever I eat chipotle!

Haven’t had Chipotle in a long time, had it yesterday for dinner. All night I had stomach issues and this morning was not pleasant.

No more Chipotle

No more Chipotle

Their food is very rich and very high calorific. If you're not used to eating there and go in for a burrito and eat the whole thing, it's a calorie bomb and that's why people have stomach issues.

That's why I don't go there or Qdoba or most fast food places any more. I used to treat them as a rare treat, once in a while, but can't do it anymore.

Does this happen to anyone else? Any idea on what might be causing this?

Doctor here. Blood pressure spike. Guaranteed it sends it soaring.

I get the same. Terrible headaches the morning after I have Chipotle Dinner. Something must be off. Happy I found this in a search. It validates what my suspicion was.

+1. It’s always made me feel like crap. I don’t understand how anyone could like that food.

I got a headache from there, too. There’s a lot of places that have food with additives that can cause headaches even if they don’t add it themselves. There are also lots of additives that are similar to MSG but are called different things and also cause headaches. Be on the lookout for Things like hydrolyzed soy protein, yeast extract, torula yeast; all of these things add flavor and cam cause headaches. Some of these additives occur naturally and then you don’t know if it’s even in the food because it will be listed as “natural flavoring“ - if it is listed at all. Basically it’s trial and error, but it’s nice when people post their experiences because it helps the people who are sensitive to it be on the lookout (and we know we’re not alone!$

I loved Dasani for a while, then my throat starting feeling weird after I drank it. Hard to explain, there was a tightness and sensation that scared me. No more!
