A VP or SVP of GR at a trade assn makes $250-$450? That sounds pretty high to me. Is it a large assn?

It's someone usually in a communications office who advises/directs on websites, mobile apps, social media, etc... any digital property used for communicating or maketing, or fundraising, etc.

Anonymous wrote:Who is making what at Promontory Financial?

I'd like to know what their Associates, Principals, and Senior Principals make.

What makes you interested in this firm?

OP here:
I work in policy for the US govt's top banking regulator. I'm trying to figure out my exit options. A few people from my agency have gone to Promontory, but at very high levels. I'd be on a lower level (I'd be an Associate now, a Principal in 2-3 years).

$150-$250K. Depends on what they bring to the table.

Thanks for this.
What are the hours typically like there? Can you speak to the firm's culture?

Many thanks!

Someone who is overpaid for doing what most 12 year olds can do. However, they use fancy words like "digital strategist" to make themselves sound more important. But that is smart because Twitter stalker, Facebook spammer, and person who emails bloggers doesn't have a nice ring to it. They are good at making it sexy.

A ha! You work for the OCC then? What a sh*thole of a place were people are basically mistreated in many divisions and the management there creates (or created) a miserable culture. I don't blame you for wanting to leave.

I heard people work like dogs at Promontory. Long, long hours etc. If the current folks there who came from the OCC brought the OCC CULTURE with them, I can't think it would be such a wonderful place to be. Yeechhh. I may be wrong though.

It is amazing it pays $200,000 though. Wow!! I wonder what kind of organization pays someone $200,000 to do that sort of work?

For a job like that I would have waited in line for it since I was 12 years old! Sometimes I am truly amazed at the incomes in the Washington Metropolitan area. I'm even more amazed at some of the houses. I'm just curious what the median individual income is in this area.

PFG employee here. You will work hard, and it's a consultancy, so you have to be ok with a LOT of travel. But you will make $$$.

Who wants to travel so much? I assume if you are on this board, you have children?
