OP here. Where did you get that our pediatrician diagnosed DD over the phone? We've been in this battle to find out the origin of DD's anemia since she was 9 months old. With changes in our diet and lots of extensive blood work we found out that we all have thalassemia and gluten/diary intolerance. It's been really difficult for us (me) to do the switch and little by little we're learning to see how our bodies react to exposure, how long it takes to get a reaction and how to minimize the symptoms once the exposure happens. It takes several weeks for the body to process the little traces of the protein so the bloody stool can happen because there's still some of it left behind. Do you remember the feeling on Sunday morning when you woke up after passing out from drinking all night long? Yeah, the feeling of throwing up, the horrible head ache, what's that called again? Yeah! HANGOVER. That's exactly how I feel after an exposure. I can't imagine how much harder it must be on that tiny little 30lbs body to have to deal with all this. Have some compassion, people. If you don't understand a problem try to learn about it before lashing out on others seeking help. |
OP, think of this as a public education service you're providing here.
As you can see, there are plenty of people who just don't understand but with a little more information can "get it" (that was me eight months ago) and then there are poeple who are almost willfully ignorant and stupid. God help them ... and us. |
I hate that things become a fight over who has the child with the worst allergies when parents get together. |
She probably got it from your previous post upthread:

I'm the OP and where is it written that the doctor diagnosed my child's food sensitivity issue over the phone? That's what PP implied and I never said that. Our doctor "dared" to "guess" DD was exposed because we've being playing this guessing game for almost 2 years now. Why are you people so calous? |
*callous |
I can't read all of this but I kept my asthmatic child home until he was old enough to know what he could or could not eat. We do have some parents at our school that do not want any children to bring things their child can't have but this is just crazy. And many doctors send in notes saying there is no medical reason the child can't have it but mom doesn't want them to have certain things. The school should not be expected to police lunchboxes. |
+1,001. Chiptle Lady is crazy. I hope she is not this way in real life for her children's sake. |
Thank you! |
HAHA - np here. The funniest thing to me is that you callous and mean people automatically think that anyone who continues to call you out without backing down or giving up just HAS to be Chipotle lady. Read the thread - people IMMEDIATELY started calling her names. I see her being called overly dramatic, a preschool teacher's nightmare, . She called them out. OH - MUST be Chipotle lady! |
OP, I would consider removing your DD from preschool. Honestly, if she is this allergic, then she is probably too young to go. I would keep her home until she understands that she can't eat food items that you haven't given her. Hope she feels better. |
OP here. This has already being discussed. I came here asking for guidance and several people gave me good advice. I tried my best to avoid the people who chose to attack me and like a PP said this thread hopefully will work as a PSA to help people understand the seriousness of food sensitivity. I'm not the PP who responded with inflammatory words (evn though I understand and appreciate her sentiment). Feel free to ask Jeff to clarify. I don't want to engage in this kind of discussion. All I came here for was to get a sense of what was appropriate. I hope we can stop now with the attacks and try to focus on the main question in my original posting. Thank you. |
Well, you really are Chipotle Lady. You have a distinct writing style and unfortunately you overshare so you are easy to spot. It would not be a problem but you are constantly stirring things up. You hate being called out and never stop coming back to your threads to argue. Seriously, how is that you are able to come back to this thread all day long? I would think you have no children if it were not that I know more about your two kids than most of my family members! |
Haha - you are hysterical. I ASSURE you I am not Chipotle lady and this is my first post on here. I read it a few times today because I suspect I have gluten intolerance and was vaguely interested in the topic. You, however, are quite paranoid - you might want to get that checked out! |
