asshole-ish thing to do, or is there something about the value of pens that I don't know about?

What is rude is pestering the person who declined. He could have a fear of germs for all we know, the pen could cost $10,000, it really doesn't matter. It is his perogative.

agree.

MYOB, that was rude and uncalled for.

OP, I haven't read the other responses, but I think you were the asshole here.

I own several expensive pens - a couple of them gifts from my father, so they have sentimental value in addition to monetary value. Nevertheless, I would most definitely lend someone my pen for two minutes so that they could fill out a form in a customs line. It's bizarre that so many posters on this thread defend this man. Yes, it his perogative to say no, but it's incredibly selfish.

But I guess I shouldn't be too surprised .... I think DCUM-ers are always looking for a way to be contrarian and nasty. Tomorrow there will be a post from an OP stating they didn't want to share their pen and everyone will call the OP a selfish a-hole.

I find it bizarre that OP would get so bent out of shape over this man's right to politely decline to loan his pen. I really think she needs to stay out of other people's business.

Lol read the reviews for this pen! My favorite "I was going to get this for my 3rd grader but saw there was no super saver shipping so I got them a bic instead"

Why not start a new thread for a neologism for a posting in which the OP thinks that they are going to get confirmation for some act they have performed, but instead everyone says they were wrong.

It's been boiling hot every day since for the past 100 days.
