Nobody is attacking the children, moron. Do you think the kids are on here reading how people dislike their names? |
| Girl: Byntlie |
Oh no they didn't! |
| Schonbek. Like the German chandelier company. |
My guess - this is the poster who was the total martinet about Amandine.... |
| I've been considering one of those boring, classic top 20 names for my kid. I was feeling bad for not picking something more unique even though I love the name. I don't feel so bad now! Thanks OP! |
Hakan is a Scandinavian name, Norwegian I think. |
Nope, not me. |
| Some people need to chill out! OP was just trying to see how many people actually named their kid a unique name the loved (see other thread on out there names you wish you could use). |
This is a nice spin. (That was not facetious.) I'm going to stop reading this thread now and let this be what I try to take from it. |
Yes, often spelled Haaken, it is the equivalent of John it is so common. And generally, I have found that these threads are fed by sheltered or narrow minded people. |
I find that no odder than the number of girls named Natalie I've met who were born nowhere near Christmas. |
What makes it worse is that she is DD #3 and is named after her dad who is also James. |

I think unusual names are great. I am a Jennifer. Every other freakin girl in my class was a Jennifer. There were ten of us on my FLOOR in college. I hated it and still hate it.
All names are made up at some point. All words are made up at some point. I think if you take a moment to ponder most names they sound weird. Some of the meanings are out there. How about the name Virginia? As in named after the state which was named after the "Virgin Queen"? It's just nowadays that we treat names like something static, something that cannot be new, creative, changed. |
| My DD's name was mentioned on this thread and we love it! |
