Best pizza in the area?

I grew up on Ledo's Pizza. To me, it's just the best. I lived near Vace forever and think it's overrated. Go with Ledo's!

We love Comet, especially the Yalie and the Stanley. Far better than Two Amys, IMHO.

Radius is closed.

I don't want to give away a neighborhood secret, but the new pizzeria in Brookland, Menomale is AMAZING. It's tiny, but kid-friendly and delicious.

What kind of pizza?

Another vote for Pizza Paridisio. For takeout Lost Dog is pretty good, especially their white pizzas.

Love Pupatella in Arlington! I think it's better than 2 Amy's, although like their pizza as well. Also a fan of Red Rocks in Columbia Heights. Great outdoor deck and good beer.

I was just going to post about Pupatella but PP beat me to it. Great pizza, they just expanded so there is more seating and also real gelati! A hit with adults and kids alike.

I dont have a standout favorite but i really like Petes Apizza in arlington and one in DC too. Also like paradisio and Faccia luna. I hate 2Amys. Big let down in my opinion. Went once and will never go back

Oh, yes, Menomale. It is tiny and often crowded but they use real mozzarella di buffala. 900 degree oven. Wine and beer list is well edited. It's about a block north of Rhode Island on 12th.

Red Rocks in Columbia Heights is a great alternative to 2 Amys

I think Luciano's is the best pizza in the area! Definitely the best pizza in NOVA. I haven't had pizza in the district in a very long time, maybe it has gotten better. If I had the time and my diet could afford it, I'd happily test every pizza place in the area.

NJ born and bred here.

Another vote for Luciano's. Really good.

Also love The Italian Store.

And, if you're in Maryland, there is Angelo's Pizza and Deli in Rockville. Family business with excellent pizza! Great crust, great sauce and also the BEST calzones. It's in a tiny strip mall on the corner of Georgia Ave and 28. I used to work up in that area and would always get pizza there.

It was a fine dish, in and of itself. But it in no way resembles a NY pie. So, if you get one from Vace, know that it will be yummy but don't get your hopes up that it will be like NYC pizza.

The secret to NY pizza is the rat meat; we just don't have the rare Hudson river wharf rats that make it oh so tasty.

Any good New Haven style places you'd recommend?

Nothing like real Pete's Apizza from New Haven. I find Pete's in DC to be its own thing, not real apizza. I have not tried Haven in Bethesda, which also claims to be NH-style.
