OK? That’s their problem. Unless someone’s peddling a harmful product I don’t see the harm in any celebrity or influencer getting paid to do an endorsement. |
No she did not. |
And that's your belief. It's just weird that you seem gobsmacked that other people would find it offensive when the fact that there are truth in advertising laws (and no this obviously wouldn't apply here) means that at least to some extent there is some societal consensus that what you're selling should be linked to reality. Like lip gloss isn't harmful but a lot of people thought it was problematic for Kylie Jenner to sell lip glosses to teens while lying about the very obvious lip fillers. |

You know the say goes something like "we are all trying here"! She is trying to live her best life, why the hate?
|
lol because why? Only skinny people can wear a bikini? |
| you don't have to buy any of the crap celebrities try to shill. you don't have to listen to them squawk on social media. celebrities are very easy to avoid unless you are rich and live in LA, but even then you can cleanse them from your space. |
Pretty much. I think Mindy would agree. |
I follow her on instagram and this is absolutely not true. |
I think the PP was exaggerating / kidding about the types of posts but I also did find the frequency and randomness of her sponsored ads very weird and unfollowed. As a celebrity, she feels inauthentic (like most celebs). Still love her work and especially her writing though, which I find personal and refreshingly honest. |
It's not quite that bad, but it is more than I would think for a celebrity of her stature. I guess she's trying to maximize her income for her and her kids. She's an investor for a lot of the companies she promotes, so it's not like a random influencer. Who cares? I do believe she has done the bikini/swimsuit promotions for years. Maybe not at her heaviest but not only now (actually, I don't remember seeing them that recently). |
Stop following celebrities on Insta. I follow none, and I rarely see their crap in my feed. You can view most celebs' pages without being a follower anyway, if for some reason you've just got to see what fakery they are up to. |
Um, She absolutely has. She’s had tons of posts in her in her backyard, modeling different swimsuits over the years. All one pieces and now she’s moved on to bikinis with her weight loss. You have no idea what you’re talking about. |

Mindy Kaling literally has had a swim line through Andie swimwear for years, well before the weight loss.
Some of you are stupid and jealous. |
https://people.com/style/mindy-kaling-talks-her-new-swimwear-collaboration-with-andie-swim-exclusive/ 2023 is when the swim line started. She lost the weight in 2020/2021 after her first kid was born. |
I don't understand the criticism that "chubbier celebs who once claimed to love their bodies" are now skinny. First, if a medical intervention becomes widely available, why not? Second, what's the alternative? Openly hating your body? These celebrities are criticized for their looks, and they're supposed to just agree, yeah, I hate myself? Of course not. So they take the tactic that yeah, I love my body, because what's the alternative? Then an alternative presents itself and they're criticized for that too. I just don't get it. How about we not criticize (99.99%) female bodies, so that they don't have to, under any circumstances, defend how they feel about themselves at any point in time, at any weight? How about that? |
