Where would YOU attend if you (the parent) could choose any school as a freshman in 2026? And why?

St. John’s. Live in the desert and read great books? Yes, please.

"Fall in love?"

That right there is what's wrong with DCUM parents. It's not a marriage. It's college. Y'all are over the top.

I’d say you’re more what’s wrong. It wasn’t that deep, just an expression, but you had to pick it apart on Page 7 of a peaceful post.

It's just that that kind of thinking is really bad for your kid. It really is. You just shouldn't think that way at all when approaching the process.

Ditto on W & M.

Another vote for W&M. Wasn't instate option for me, so I couldn't attend, but it definitely would have been my top choice back in the day. It was in state for my kids. One went there. Visiting as a parent was a real treat for me!

All have a strong balance between academics, high-end athletics and social scene.

CMC - very good academics, fun social vibe, great outcomes, and the beautiful eclectic Claremont consortium. It's a gem.

I didn’t know much about Boston University until my daughter wanted to go.
After she attended, my perception changed, and the school seems to have a lot of potential to grow even further. It may not be the right school for everyone, but my daughter’s experience at BU so far has been very positive.

I'm weirdly intrigued by Deep Springs.

I also love Rice.

How many of you would have chosen Trump U if it weren't closed? It would've been my pick...

In New Mexico? Santa Fe is woodsy and quasi-mountaineous.

UCLA - because the ocean and it’s beautiful. And undergrad really doesn’t matter that much for what I did- med school.

Rice is a more humid and less accomplished Vanderbilt.
