I suppose some of the families live closer to Medstar than Mount Vernon, which is a very reasonable reason to switch. But for those who don't, I just can't see the logic in paying significantly more to play on a CHA team that will probably be worse than the Ice Dogs team would have been. Plus, CHA has no pathway past this 10/12U team so you will just have to switch programs again in a year or two anyways. |
There was quite a bit of expectation within CHA that the more talented former players would come flooding back to this team (and bring some of their current teammates with them) but that was a pretty big failure by CHA. Apparently they got a few Bronze level players to come back but that's about it, so the team is significantly weaker than CHA had hoped. I had heard rumors they were saying before tryouts they hoped to be a Gold or Silver team, but after the CBHL levelling festival seem to be more of a middle of the pack Bronze team. |
Eh… we saw them at the leveling festival. They didn’t look like a “middle of the pack bronze team” to us. I don’t know the inner workings of CHA so I can’t really speak to that, but maybe you can? 100-percent not a gold squad. Definitely some smaller girls, but it’s their first attempt at something at least. |
If I'm not mistaken, most of their games were against 10U teams and weaker Bronze teams. They looked perfectly at level against those teams, so I doubt they would be able to handle playing Silver. |
Are there results posted somewhere? I’d love to point and laugh as well |
