That's fine if you feel that way. Do you understand that others, especially those in the care of a therapist for the last 9 months, might feel different? |
Heartbreaking to hear their pain and so many questions about what transpired. |
These people aren't the ones who died by being thrown from the horse. Your metaphor isn't very good here. |
Nothing will bring them back but the survivors also need to heal. There are many victims here that you don't seem to realize. |
| My take from the nymag article is that the Eastlands are relying on their Christian God as both reason for the tragedy and excuse from accountability, and continue to perceive the rest of the world (including the victims' parents) as divided into two camps: similarly aligned by faith alone, or deserving of their suffering. It's futile to attempt to convince them that life events are controlled by anything other than an Act of God, which is convenient and sustaining. |

Terrible that no evacuation plan was in place and approved. Campers' safety should be a priority.

| The camp is criminally negligent and they should be sued into oblivion. They should be forced to liquidate anything valuable that the camp possesses (including the other camp property) to compensate the victim’s family. They should not be allowed to operate until it’s fully adjudicated. |
It’s worse than that. Not only did they not have the required evacuation plan, the counselors were in fact prohibited from evacuating. They were TOLD NOT TO. |
It's about reopening and making money. |
Well the board has proven itself too lazy or incompetent to review emergency plans. Mystic didn’t have one. That is the subject of the latest lawsuit against the state. I agree that emotions should not rule the day and that includes the “emotions” of the profit-driven camp owners and those families claiming their living children can “only” heal if they are allowed to return. |
| Isn’t the license renewal due today? |
Yes, they definitely need a random granny from DC to tell them what to do. |
