Anne Frank’s family went into hiding because of deportation orders. |
Your Democrat reps WANT chaos & carnage…anything to try to make Trump look bad. If they wanted safety & order, they’d demand that police cooperate with ICE & turn over illegal aliens so ICE wouldn’t have to go into neighborhoods to get the people to deport. |
Was her family there illegally? No. That’s why your analogy is stupid. |
I agree that local police should turn over criminals to ICE when they have them in custody, but are you suggesting that local police go hunting for otherwise law-abiding undocumented migrants in their neighborhoods and then turn them over to ICE? |
Your use of the word “otherwise” blows up your argument. So I reject the position that the millions of people who are here illegally shouldn’t be deported. Why even have laws if you’re not going to enforce them? But fine, worst first. It’s just insane that you guys won’t turn over hardened criminals over to ICE, & then whine about ICE having to go into neighborhoods to get these criminals. |
You are illustrating that the “buy nothing” movement is created by economic pressures more than political motivation and it’s carried out by the middle class and aspiring middle class who are already squeezed by agendas and policies of both parties. But have you noticed how large the upper class is? They can fill all the sports and entertainment venues and all the theme parks and all the hotels, and all the malls, etc by themselves. Everything is sold out and everywhere is full, perhaps more than before. |
50-75 years. Seriously. It will take at least that long for things to simmer down and be functional again. The split in behaviors won’t come back together any time soon. |
lol. Some cites? I’m OP and no doubt in a far more expensive part of the US than you-this is not true. The commercial vacancy rate is going up. Unemployment is going up. And so forth. I really wish the Trumpistas would ignore this thread and go back to articulating non-legal rationales for Grindr Jonathan Ross’s extrajudicial killing of Renee Good. To the former Hill staffer - thank you. I’ve heard that calls are better than letters. I’m in real disbelief that some of my elected representatives are still unwilling to cut ICE funding despite the events of last week. It’s surreal to have the government we have, where some of “our” representatives are publicly explicit that they are not open to constituent opinions. |
So of course you think nobody is above the law, but of course you want to exempt illegal aliens from a law you find inconvenient. So you toss logic aside so you can keep your illegal nanny & landscapers working at below minimum wages. And anybody who disagrees with you is a filthy fascist, right? |
You sound like you're not understanding things completely. People are being "made" to be illegal who have been here for decades. Anne Frank's family was in Amsterdam legally, until they were declared to be "illegal" You sound like the stupid one in this exchange |
What do you consider to be worthy wages? Like, exact numbers for things like house cleaning, landscaping? What do you consider to be underpaid ... and if you are declaring that those occupations are being worked at "below minimum wages" what do you think they are actually worth? |
I take the Clara Barton in to DC daily and have never seen ICE. I do see them on the GW Pkwy and it always involves stop of a white van and busted out windows. |
I agree with PP, this is a terrible analogy. You are talking about a time when people were migrating in an area and during a time of war on the ground, bombs falling in Europe and destroying cities. You are comparing today’s voluntary migration for opportunity (90%) with the Jewish people fleeing certain death while they were systematically send to extermination camps. Today’s migrants would return to their, in most cases, perfectly safe home country. |
