A long time ago when we were building our house I put a set of bulkhead stairs in with a hinged trap door that you can open to an empty hiding space inside. I originally did it to be able to hide things like emergency supplies and whatnot. Now I’ve shown it to my landscapers and housekeepers, now if they are afraid they know where it is and (for the landscapers) how to come in through the back door, pull the staircase open on the outside with a stair runner brace, and pull it closed from inside. It looks like a normal staircase otherwise. That was something I never thought I’d have to use for humans.
Anne Frank’s family went into hiding because of deportation orders.
Was her family there illegally? No. That’s why your analogy is stupid.
You sound like you're not understanding things completely. People are being "made" to be illegal who have been here for decades. Anne Frank's family was in Amsterdam legally, until they were declared to be "illegal" You sound like the stupid one in this exchange
I agree with PP, this is a terrible analogy. You are talking about a time when people were migrating in an area and during a time of war on the ground, bombs falling in Europe and destroying cities. You are comparing today’s voluntary migration for opportunity (90%) with the Jewish people fleeing certain death while they were systematically send to extermination camps. Today’s migrants would return to their, in most cases, perfectly safe home country.
