2014G

For anyone who doesn't or isn't ready to step into that world at U13, which clubs in the DMV have the strongest ECNL RL + good coach combination?

It'd be fun to see a younger ECNL RL team from the area compete at the top of the RL system.

If the current U13 (2013G) serves as any indication, the top three RL teams are Arlington, GFR, and VYS.

A little oversimplified of course. Win record should not be the only measure, and no club leads in every age group.

Agreed, it seems so dependent from age group to age group (talent in the age group, team dynamics and coach). And the current 2014 rankings are also skewed by all the 2014 teams that are playing up 11v11 and thus not part of the rankings.

So for those looking out for one another (so much love on DCUM always), keep everyone posted on where that combination is coming together!

I think with the number of GA teams in the area there won’t be enough talent left over to have a RL team that can compete nationally.

We shall see. It will be the interesting. Did GA over extend to the point of being irrelevant, or will MLSN2 save the GA over expansion. They are both over expanded, but ECNL is trying hard to reverse its over expansion, Ga and MLSN2 is trying to corner the market. It will be interesting to see who is right. I don’t know, but it will be fun to see it play out. I expect in the short term MLSN2 wins out, GA loses, but in the long term, who knows.

nah because all the boys club want MLSNext 1 (Home Grown) which also forces girls to GA. The only way to save ECNL it to stop requirement of having both boys and girls.

wrong the wins for 2014s playing up still register if they are 2014 team.

Different Poster- They register, but a lot of times these results don't tell you much when they play up against inferior competition which is typical.

When are GA/ECNL holding tryouts for next year?
Do all pre-ECNL and pre-GA feeder clubs start training with ECNL/GA teams, or are they doing in-house ID seasons?

If you are asking these questions then I’d focus on RL or Aspire at this point.

GA is now. ECNL is March 1.

Anyone have any information on the top SAC 2014 team that will be Armour’s GA team next year?

Keep an eye out for those Potomac 2014G girls. They’re undoubtedly the team to beat in this area. Granted they lost State Cup to SAC, but still a team that’s difficult to play against . Maybe 1 or 2 teams in this area that can keep up with their pace .

Someone on here keeps hyping Potomac but I’m struggling to see objectively how they make this claim. They haven’t beaten any of the local top tier 2014s like Loudoun, Arlington or SYC. They haven’t beaten SAC or Bethesda. What’s this based on?

Potomac 2014 Girl's 1st team is one of the best local teams - only the 2014 1st team... rest of girl's teams are ok... Maybe the 2015 team will get a bit better with AG, but they are def not as strong as the 2014s.
