Teen boys and portion sizes

We are a family of 4 carnivores, but sometimes I cook a vegetarian meal. Tonight I made a lentil soup, there was bread with butter and salad too. If my teens are hungry later they can have some ice cream or cereal or fruit or toast.

Eating meat for every meal is expensive and unsustainable. I can’t believe people are saying that you should cater to your teen’s whiny demands. He can eat a vegetarian meal without being butt hurt that it’s not “for him”

I couldn't imagine not serving meat at every meal. My DS does not like beans or tofu. He is an athlete and depending on the day, one four oz burger is not going to cut it. Maybe get him some protein shakes? Or make him 2 burgers. Unless you are broke, I can't imagine this being an issue. Y

I have said multiple times that there are always at least second portions of any meat or seafood, and given the example of running out after every kid who wants a second burger has had one.
