You here tho? |

My first impression is that it's a return to some of her pop-ier earlier albums, which is just not my favorite version of Taylor, so this album is not so much for me as her more recent albums have been. However I do like that it's more upbeat that TTPD and my DD will like a lot of these songs.
Actually Romantic is for sure about Charli. I think it's funny because the tone of the song is "oh I don't think about you at all" but... you wrote a whole song about her for your new album, so you definitely think about her, and not just in passing. I like to think Taylor gets that irony though. Also CANCELLED is definitely about Blake Lively and I think is meant to be supportive, which doesn't surprise me because I never understood the reasoning behind their supposed falling out. Regardless of what anyone thinks of Blake, she and Taylor have been extremely close friends for going on a decade (probably Taylor's closes consistent friend over that time) and I really had a hard time believing Taylor would totally drop Blake over this whole lawsuit -- it seemed like Taylor would take Blake's side no matter what. And it appears that she has. |
| Yes. I really hope that Taylor and Blake are still friends. Also, cancelled sounds like yellow flicker beat. |
Honey is sweet (pun intended). I love this for her.
|
This! I like it. It is totally unhinged and I keep laughing thinking about it. |
| This is her worse album to date and I'm not going to be gaslit by bots and crazies. It's genuinely awful. I'll still give it another full listen on my way home but not looking forward to it. |
+1. Breeding + record-breaking Vegas residency announcement in December 2025. Why fly around the world when the world will come to her in Vegas. |
She said in a recent interview that she has no plans to tour again soon because she's still recovering from Eras and she would want the tour to be as amazing as Eras and she doesn't have the energy for it right now. I don't know that this backs up the idea of her doing a Vegas residency -- that would honestly be a lot of work too, and I think could get monotonous. But it would be hugely profitable and Taylor loves making money. I think if she did it, it wouldn't be a long residency. Maybe 6-8 months. I have no idea how she'd have a baby while doing a showgirl-style residency in Vegas though, those plans don't work together at all. |
Her success is not your success. Criticisms and critiques of her are not criticisms and critiques of you. Not everyone shares your fanaticism. |
I think it's boring, but in the same way some of her earlier albums were boring to me. It's too bad Actually Romantic is such a boring sounding song because the lyrics and context are really juicy (though admittedly I felt this way about some of TTPD at first too -- that the music itself was too dull to match the lyrics, but I came around on some of the tracks). I don't love 1989 either. I'm not sure I've ever loved the music she's created with these particular producers. |
Correct, so back to the timeline: |
Easy, you pay surrogates to carry the babies for you. |
Las Vegas is really struggling. Las Vegas is owned by Wall Street. Taylor has all the leverage. The Vegas industry can afford to give her a billion dollars for a residency to get spendthrift women and families to come to Vegas. If you think this album was called Showgirls without a looming Vegas residency you're a bit naive. |
| Most mid lyrical content of any of her recent albums, for the most mid of all her recent muses. |
|
I 100% feel the idea that its a mix of midnights and TTPD. I think it is funny and some tongue and cheek lines that are zingers.
It's easy to listen too, even though I don't love all the songs. I really really wanted a pop banger - but I don't hear it. Oh well. |
