Jeff, while this may be true, isn’t part of the problem that Hamas leadership and monied members live safely outside Gaza in places like US-friendly (if not allied) states? I don’t co done Israel’s strikes but it doesn’t seem like the Gazan / Palestinian leadership acts in the interests of its people because the leaders don’t live the life of the people.

Do you think that the Hamas leadership in Gaza has any hope of surviving negotiations with Israel? Leaders outside are the only ones who can negotiate for Hamas.

Also, the outside Hamas leaders were famously not informed about October 7. Holding them responsible for it as Israel is doing is disingenuous.

I really don't know how after all that has happened it is not absolutely obvious to everyone that Netanyahu wants endless war. He will do anything that he can to sabotage opportunities to stop the fighting.

Why do we continue to use “Netanyahu” as a placeholder for the correct word which is “Israel” and “American Jews.”

America is done.

The obituary has been written.

Israel the parasite, can eat what’s left and then it’s done as well.

Two good reasons are that many American Jews participated in the antiwar protests and Israelis are filling the streets every night in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem demanding a ceasefire.

Moreover, I strongly believe that holding American Jews responsible for Israel is antisemitic and I think that you should avoid doing it.

Clearly, Israel has decided they are no longer going to go through these attacks every decade or so. They're working to permanently kill off the organizations responsible. I can't blame them.

LOL remember when Israel assassinated Hamas' founder and top leader Sheikh Yassin in 2004, and that, like, totally decapitated and disabled Hamas?

Me neither. Because it didn't happen.

The thing about Israel is that it absolutely sucks at killing ideologies.

Qatar is within its rights to ask the US military bases to leave. White House knew about the attack and did nothing to keep it from happening.
I hope they have the courage to take this step

Qatar condemned Israel's bombing of Syria, then an hour later Israel bombs Qatar.

This will bring Qatar and Israel closer together. This is just the Israelis agreeing to establish diplomatic and trade relationship with Qatar. The population of Qatar will rise up and overthrow Hamas. Qatar was building nuclear weapons. Qatar is antisemitic. Qatar was falling under Turkey’s influence. High level Hamas and or weapon stockpiles were taken out by Israel. All were hiding in elementary schools, power plants and hospitals. Israel demands more bombs and arms from the US. US Congress demand Trump attack Qatar and thank the Israelis for attacking this rogue country.

Next up Saudi and Turkey!

I wonder what kind of mental illness Zionists suffer from. You want to engage the entire region at war from Turkey to Iran to Tunisia during a time the United States is weary of both war and that region? Lol. Good luck kid.

You should note that historically every Israeli state started to crumble around the eighty year mark due to wars. Netanyahu is repeating history

Please just be careful with the rhetoric. Many American Jews including me, are horrified by what Netanyahu is doing. He is a madman.

DP we are way past that. It is time for Americans Jews to actually do something.

Such as?

Take down the “we support israel” banners on the side of the local synagogue for starters? Just an idea.

Gaza doesn’t even make a top ten list of what Americans care about. Most Americans would prefer to put a box over Israelis and Palestinians and never think of them again. Neither side seems interested in any kind of peace or a sustainable two state solution. Besides the importance of Jerusalem to various religions, the area is strategically meaningless to the modern world.

The attack on Hamas’ political leaders in Doha doesn’t change much for the US. A little noise, but it won’t impact our relations with Qatar, where we have a major base. Nor will it affect our relations with other countries in the Gulf. Everyone in that neighborhood hates and fears Iran first and foremost. And Hamas is effectively a proxy for Iran. Because as always, Palestinians tend to make the dumbest decisions possible.

However, Netanyahu’s decision to do this will likely lead to the execution of some of the remaining living hostages. And there will be tremendous blowback when that happens against the government from the many, many Israelis that think Netanyahu is a corrupt psychopath.

But Israel has a parliamentary system. And this government depends on keeping the far right orthodox settler parties happy. And the attack on Doha makes the nutcases happy.

So in the end. No change for the US, which is what we care about. And Israelis and Palestinians will continue with their atrocities. If there was a good side here, people would care more. But there isn’t one. Palestinians need to get rid of Hamas. And Israelis need to get rid of Likud and the orthodox fanatics.

Until that happens, put a wall around them. And that is where 80 percent of Americans are today.

Then make it clear you are disassociating yourself from Israel. Show us by your deeds how much you object to those actions. Quit contributing to Israel, its causes, AIPAC, ADL, etc. Let those who support Netanyahu stay and become a pariah state. They can fight Iran and North Korea for the worst.

Look, I am anti_Zionism, but your post here borders on Semitic. American Jews do not have de facto loyalty to Israeli government, and do not de facto do all the things you say they need to stop. Such gross stereotyping. They don't need to prove anything to you.

Just stop. Your attacks are not convincing anyone. When the most public display that most people see from judaism are the large banners that proclaim support for Israel on the side of synagogues then why would you expect an average person to somehow not associate Judaism with support for Israel. Talk to your own people about their marketing campaigns before attacking the general public just for listening to those exact messages.

+1 This is an example of “You can run but you can’t hide.” Israel is serving up a big heaping helping of justice which has been a long time coming.

So now any country has the right to bomb another country because it harbors “evil”?

Do you people not read newspapers or books at all? Do you know nothing about the conflict between Sunni and Shi’a? Are you not aware that the Saudis and the Iranians have been fighting a proxy war for decades?

There is zero chance Qatar tells the US to remove their base, which is a big one. That base is basically a security guarantee for Qatar against Iran.

Everything that’s happened since October 7th is basically about Iran. That is the prism this conflict should be looked through.
