$3200 on Swiss Nov 22-30. |
SAS doesn't fly daily to Copenhagen from IAD that time of year. There is no flight on the schedule on 11/21 (you can check by looking in economy, nothing shows up). There is a single flight other days of the week, not sure what you mean by "two thirds of the flights on 11/22". There are business class seats available for sale on SAS on their single IAD-CPH flight on 11/22. |
I guess that’s nice if one is going to Florence, but we aren’t, and the fares for the route we need is 8,000 plus four round trip business per person. Not sure why you want to debate this. I’m not saying there isnt cheaper business seats to Europe, but there are also routes and time period when it is pretty expensive. |
There are also one stop flights from IAD to CPH on SAS, that’s what I mean by other flights. These do in fact fly on both Friday and Saturday. |
It appears you are going to Copenhagen for that last week of November? Looks like you can go with a quick stop in Zurich for $4700. Yeah I wouldn't like an extra 3 hours, but seems pretty reasonable to save $3300/person. |
Those must involve connections with the long haul flight on another airline? SAS only flies from Dulles to Copenhagen. They may say offer an SAS flight from Paris to CPH, with the leg to Paris on Air France. |
I don't travel much but are those seats mostly always empty? |
|
As I said, we are using a combination of points and cash so paying less than that. |
No, never empty. |
Why do you care? They also fly through JFK and Toronto, |
Their flights on Nov 21 from EWR, JFK and YYZ all have business class seats for sale. I am confused why you are saying things that are clearly incorrect. |
Right, but your original post said the cash only cost was $8000. |
Yup, because I wasn’ t looking for a three hour layover in Zurich, |
Okay, now even more confused, because Nov 22-29 nonstop on SAS business IAD-CPH is $4500. |
