Yes. Everyone was there, nobody saw a disgusting sign and spoke up. Nobody said anything about a sign threatening a Black conservative woman with a return to Jim Crow.

It shows moral rot.

You don't believe that's what the sign meant. You're lying and claiming it does that because it helps your cause. That's moral rot.

Would you hold up that sign and be photographed and video recorded?

DP and I wouldn’t. Not because it is racist, but because after years of working with the general public I understand that a lot of people are stupid and incapable of complex thought.

Her analogy could provoke thoughtful discussion in an academic course about race and gender. But on a public sign it is inevitable someone with the IQ of a rock will read it as pro-segregation.

So you are saying all the Democrat politicians who quickly came forward to denounce the woman and her racist sign are ignorant with “IQ of a rock”?

That seems to be what the defenders of the sign are arguing.

I’m curious why you think the sign is racist.

Is it because it simply uses the words “blacks” and “water fountains?” Is the mere reference to segregation enough for you to deem something racist?

Or do you disagree with the analogy itself? So then it is racist simply because you don’t agree with the comparison?

Or is it because you’re so transphobic that you think comparing trans rights to other civil rights is wrong?

Also I find it amusing that after years of “all lives matter” and clutching pearls over “cancel culture” the right is ready to knee jerk call someone “racist.”

No. I think their job is PR and they want to quell the controversy as quickly as possible while distancing themselves from the MAGA accusations.

Uh, we’re not jailing her. We’re calling her out.

See the difference?

Would she have made that comparison if Winsome Sears was Caucasian?

She only used it because of her race.

Bless your heart. You’ve been in mommy’s basement for too long.

This is the exact response I’d expect from someone who can’t actually evaluate something on the merits. It doesn’t even make sense. And I grew up in the south so Bless Your Heart right back at ya.

Yes, vile.

Yes, Dems always fall back on the "it was just a joke" excuse whenever they let the mask slip. But, she's right--it did provoke a conversation about racism--her racism.

That explains your racism. Thanks for sharing.

She only used it because of her (Winsome Sears) race and her own race. It wouldn't have been a black woman holding the sign either.

This is exactly how you evaluate it. Even if she missed the racism in it, she clearly hasn’t done the work to see how triggering this might be. How people might not feel safe.

The group that she was representing, "We of Action" has put out a statement about what they termed "racist sign" at their rally, "discrimination of any kind is ALWAYS wrong." Which is the correct public statement. But why do I get the feeling that the members of We are Action are online doing damage control with a different message?

Exactly. Would she have used that language if Youngkin was the speaker? Miyares?

No. She only chose the Jim Crow/water fountain language because of Winsome Sears being black.

Of course not. She’s a privileged white elderly woman from Arlington. The base of the dying Democrat party.
