Ah, spoken like a typical self-involved A hole Sidwell parent ❤️ |
I get it, this is one reason why I pulled my sons out of private and got our local public. Fortunately we are zones for one of the best publics in the country. |
Full pay tuition at private schools includes $5k-$10k of tuition that funds financial aid. There is no way to opt out. It is a requirement of attending these schools. For the responsible parents who are paying for their own children, they have to also cover for the financial aid parents. Many FA parents are pursuing underpaid, leisurely jobs while the real adults are paying their bills. |
There was an old post that was blocked where a person was suggesting to restrict financial aid to few people that cannot truly pay for private school, and excluding middle class families that can go to cheaper private schools (lets say catholic schools) or good public schools. Why the tuition bill have to be split between some middle class parents that dont want to pay full tuition and other middle class parents that are willing to work harder to pay full tuition. There is something off about the financial aid system. This is a legitimate point. But you can troll if you dont want to respond with arguments. |
Kinda like how the people who didn’t serve in the military are enjoying freedoms they themselves didn’t protect. |
By getting rid of the staff members whose contributions to actual education are minimal. |
People don't get how much bloat there is in private education. You could fire half the admin with no changes to the quality of the education |
Taxes pay for military to protect freedoms as well as public schools. Private schools are completely different. |
So close. You can do it! |
You are about as clever as my pet hamster. |
+1 We left private too. We were there during the height of the "racial reckoning" and "honest conversations about race" that followed COVID, where the white students were all made to feel like racists who needed to "check their privilege" simply because of who they were. In class discussions they were marginalized because they did not have the "life experience" of the less fortunate so many times that they lost interest in class participation. Our family was paying full tuition for two boys, plus donations on top of that, because we could afford it and it seemed like the right thing to do. We knew that we subsidizing less fortunate students, which we were fine with at first, but when our sons were treated as less worthy due to their so-called privilege, it was time to move on. They are in public school now where the education is great (so long as you load up on AP's and dual enrollment) and they are much happier and our life as a family is much easier. School is ten minutes from home we are saving a ton of $$. Each family needs to make its own decision, but if you feel like you are being ripped off by your private school, you probably are. |
LOL at you for having a pet hamster. As mentioned already, this has nothing to do with being clever, and everything to do with how you misuse the word “forced.” |
Perhaps the PP is forced to have a hamster. |
Hamsters are smarter |
Curious which public school you are at, if you don’t mind sharing? |
