They went away?? |
Ahhhh, good point. |
This is how my kid’s school is — the academically motivated kids hang out and it’s very diverse. This isn’t a nerd group. But smart kids who are white, Korean, Indian, middle Eastern, Jewish, mixed-race, international, European etc. It’s a total melting pot. |
They don't feel comfortable around your white and asian kids. With each other they can relax. |
So, what more current information can you share with the rest of us? |
Well I am nice. And I'm a POC. I don't know how exactly you expect me to speak. Codeswitching in not a buzzword- it's a reality https://www.npr.org/podcasts/510312/codeswitch |
There's nothing to stop. We prefer it this way. Learn to MYOB. |
I really don’t believe we can effectively address and implement diversity and inclusion if we just ignore segregation. Don’t you agree? |
My SIL is as progressive as they get. Moved from a diverse to all white neighborhood and is a proud supporter of black people. She was one of the first to put up a BLM sign in her neighborhood. Her DD will be attending Notre Dame. |
Many people do prefer it. But they don’t know what they’re missing. |
You cite NPR as a source. I rest my case. |
In other words white girls |
Want a cookie? |
Lol, sounds like a question from someone who's definitely not a POC. I'm Asian and my best friends are Asian (from different countries). In school there was one other Asian person in my grade, and that person became my best friend. I never actively chose friends based on race, but that's just how it shook out.
Turns out, people tend to hang out with people they have stuff in common with and understand parts of your culture. It's nice to be around people who understand how you grew up differently and don't have to explain yourself all the time. |
No, you are not. Asians are not URMs and are not allowed to apply for scholarships, programs, summer camps, etc. , reserved for minorities who are underrepresented. |
