Can we FINALLY put to rest the idea most Americans want MAGA?

Democrats’ policies when polled are very popular. It’s that Republicans lie about what Democrats’ policies are.

Some Democrats on here know these policies are unpopular, which is why they claim it was all Biden and that people should move on and not pin these policies on current Democrats.
Others say Biden's immigration policies were correct.

Biden is long gone and no longer an influence on the Dem Party. Trump is still around and destroying the election hopes of GOP politicians in 2026 and 2028. We know how this story plays out after our 2020 and 2024 POTUS election experiences.

Obama/Trump voter here. This × 1M. It's like the DNC has been overtaken by histrionic, manic, borderline personality disorder patients with gender dysphoria.

Folks like you are delusional and a little slow. BIDEN WAS THE CENTER. HILARY WAS THE CENTER. OBAMA WAS THE CENTER. KAMALA WAS THE CENTER. Candidates like AOC and Bernie had almost zero role an any of the prior elections and dem presidencies. And yet, having moderates vs. lying fascists, Dems still lost with their centrist candidates. If a DEM cannot admit this and recognize the issues is not them and what they're selling, then we may as well hand it all over to Trump and Vance.

Things usually are with other people's money.

Democrats think they're owed everything as a right by others.

Don't get offended when people label you socialist pigs.

The biggest welfare queens are in Red States and red supporters (like farmers).

I think the Dem candidate needs to push for universal healthcare. It’s time.

I agree that the Democrats should move more center but, building on your point, Americans don't want want the GOP/MAGA is selling either. They need to move more center as well. The Democrats will win in 2026 and 2028 as the political pendulum naturally swings.

The center doesn’t necessarily mean status quo, incremental change at the margins though. It actually might mean bold proposals that make life better for people in the center of the bell curve.

But the democrat way to “make life better” is to increase things the government provides. Free this, free that, etc. I think most people don’t want to see a bunch of social programs ran by the government (at the expense of those that pay taxes).

The function of government is to provide services and programs that individuals can’t provide on their own. I’m happy to pay taxes so we can have national parks and accurate weather forecasting. The majority of Americans like Social Security and Medicare. Do you want the full burden of caring for your elderly parents for 20+ years?

THIS. Imagine what you can have with those government run programs. My federal healthcare is amazing. You could have that. Countries with the most happiness have government safety nets to include healthcare, parental leave, etc. Yes their taxes are high, but they get SO MUCH for it.

The problem is these people are considered center Dems.

People don't want what Republicans CLAIM the Democrats are selling. According to Republicans the top issues for Democrats are having transwomen take over womens sports, replacing Americans with illegals, DEI = replacing superiorly qualified workers with totally unqualified female black midget amputees with epilepsy, sending all our money overseas but forcing veterans to be homeless in a cardboard box, degenerating on down to sex change operations forced on kids in elementary school, deep state, stolen elections, getting rid of private industry and replacing it with socialism, eating bugs and living in a pod (Klaus Schwab) and on and on and on.

Yet that's not actually been anywhere in the DNC platform nor any part of any major Democrats' campaign platforms.

Republicans win elections because they run on lies and fearmongering.

Maybe not at the moment.
But it’s hard to believe that the Democrats will be against those things at one point in the future. We all know how much they love progress and change.

Obama was a legitimate POTUS with elite leadership and communication skills. It didn't matter if Biden was center or far left, he never really was POTUS material and it was obvious he lacked the ability to lead and communicate to the American people at his advanced age. Biden won in 2020 due thanks to his opponent being a historically weak and unpopular sitting POTUS and then Biden was the weak and unpopular sitting POTUS gifting an election to the opposition party in 2024. When you attempt to equate an Obama with a Biden when making a point, your entire point loses all credibility.

Trump was, at best, coy about implementing Project2025, and at worst flat out denied knowing anything about it. Now that it’s effectively being codified into law and enacted by EO, most Americans don’t like it.

So no, the people didn’t “vote for this”.

Anonymous wrote:The election was NOT an endorsement of RW policies or Trump. It was a vote against the incumbent party, the same thing happening all over the world! Yes, we have way too many bigots and racist people citizens. But yesterday proved that a huge majority do not want what Trump is selling.

Humans are complicated. We can’t deduce a person down to one vote. But yesterday, millions of Americans came out to show their disapproval. And look at the images. These aren’t “radical, socialist, Democrats.”

I’m sure MAGA will try to spin some fanciful tale, but we all saw the pitiful fascist parade vs. the MILLIONS of everyday people, from small “red” towns to big “blue” cities coming together to show their love of country(lots of 🇺🇸) and their opposition to MAGA.

You are wrong. It wasn’t only a vote against the incumbent party. They could have rejected MAGA and picked a different republican candidate in the primaries. They didn’t.

Americans wanted MAGA. That’s what they voted for. They had 8 full years to learn about the MAGA agenda. Nothing that is happening now is surprising.

This is not like an politician who says all the nice things to be elected and once in power does something completely different.

I’m OP. And this is a false narrative. Until you understand what really happened we cannot correct it. Walking around thinking that half the country vote voted MAGA hatered helps no one. It is obvious by yesterday‘s turn out which America people want to live in.

This is a simple as who decided to come out and show support for Trump versus who decided to take a stand with their neighbors for a different America. It wasn’t about policy. It was just about the fact that we do not want to live in authoritarianism.

Good luck trying extract your social security checks via crypto. My MAGA parents are going to have a rude awakening when they realize things are changing- because yes, that’s where you days went- and they can’t quite keep up.

*data went. What else was the point of the Great Government Data Heist of 2025 for?

NP. There is an opinion column by David French in today’s NYT that I think gets to what OP is talking about. Essentially, Americans approve of Trump’s goals but not his methods.

It won’t work here plus most people in US don’t want a socialist country. The majority would rather work hard, keep more of their earned income, and be rewarded with high income for hard work and innovation. We already have safety nets in place for the people that need them. We don’t need even more.
Public schools have already been turned into a social services dumpster fire.
