What is your federal agency telling you re: RTO? (No other rants/comments!)

AUSA here. We were told EOUSA is still working on figuring out guidance, but to be prepared for 5 days a week in-office.

Our productivity using telework increased as well.

Sound like the office space matter is above your pay grade. Focus on preparing yourself to go into the office.

I don’t think anyone asked for your suggestions. The thread title should make that clear.

Title of thread is no other rants/comments.

Do you really think the political appointees are just going to ignore the order? Once they’re in place they’ll be calling the shots.

So they’ll personally review time cards and badge data? Sounds like a fun job!

AI will spit out the names of those who are not complying or those who are in the grey zone.

I think the plan is to ask people to RTO. At the same time they are embedding a 4 person Doge team to assess and eliminate folks. People who don't RTO without legitimate reason will be on chopping block along with managers who can't get their teams to RTO. They axed 80% of Twitter employees.

We have an HR minion that does this right now.

They already have been for about 2 years. Departmental HR, GAO, and OPM have been collecting data every month--badge swipes and timesheets.

That’s not how GAO audits work, babe.

The badge swipes thing is so weird to me. I have to swipe through a main turnstile and then a large door to get to my office. The security folks frequently open the main turnstile for employees they know well. People frequently come in/out of the large door, so again, it isn't uncommon for someone to hold the door open or use one badge to allow multiple people through. It's totally possible to work a full day in-office at my office without ever swiping your PIV.

According to Reddit, NARA plans to violate CBOs for RTO (remote and federal).

Not sure why you all are arguing. The plan isn’t to get us to quit over returning to the office. The plan is to make us come into the office and then catch us leaving early or teleworking when we aren’t supposed to. Then poof- they can easily fire us.
