Quick question - what is more important for college lax recruiting ?

High School

Or

Club/Showcases, etc

High School but only if the high school is a high level lax school like those included in the IL national and top 10 regional rankings.
Grades at all high schools. Low B average immediately moves you to D2.
Club, but only if that club actively plays in what are considered good tournaments. Sorry Aloha and Sandstorm.

Prospect Days and Showcases if your kid falls out of the top high school category

Wait - low B means you can't play D1 ? Surely this can't be true.

edit: "Prospect Days and Showcases if your kid falls out of the top high school category" become the most important when the player falls outside of top High School and Club.

It's actually 23 wins which is over 50% higher. So not close. You also said they were 6th or worse since joining, which also isn't true they've been 5th 3x out of 4. And played 2 or 3 tight-ish games per year with the top 4 after year 1. And generally they've hammered the teams behind them, which is fully 50% of the league.

You sure this is saying what you want it to say about the strength of privates vs publics?

So overall, the IAC is better with 50% of the league being good whereas only about 25% of the WCAC is any good based on that format which doesn’t mean squat. Head to head it’s top 3 vs top 3. The issue is St Johns has been black balled by all local teams except WCAC teams so you’ll never get to see them play any IAC teams ever.

Bullis plays them and has open dates this year and had open dates last year. GC is not playing Bullis this year either.

Smith at GC opted for a beat down by Lawrenceville this year.

Also declined an offer to play against Landon

Prospect Days and Showcases are a joke. We know a family that won’t stop telling people that their kid is at a certain well- regarded school for a recruiting visit, when the truth is they paid for a spot at the Prospect Day, flew the kid out there and he’s just a camper like all the rest. It’s a great branding effort for Try-Hard parents who really want to impress the other LaxBro Couples, but they may as well have sent their kid to Disneyland for the day.

So all D1 lacrosse players have a B average or above ?
What about boards ?

1 win is 50%? Anyway, The Heights have gone from 11 wins (5th) to 7 (tied for 5th/6th) to 5 wins (6th) in a league which should clearly be divided just like their football side. They have an enrollment of less than 300 and joined a league where enrollment is 2-4x higher. 5th or 6th is where they will always land in lacrosse.

I do recognize they have a good group of 27's and will be a little more competitive this year and solidly in 6th place. They are a good team to judge relative strength of public v privates.

I don't know about all but how about the vast majority. Yes, boards are extremely important but I think it's pretty rare to find the C student scoring super high boards. There's a reason why he's getting C's.

Will the Heights dad please stop with the fake objective comments about Heights being anything other than irrelevant in DMV lacrosse

This isn’t totally true but it’s definitely got some truth. That is comedy gold that Moms are bragging their son is at a “recruiting visit” when he’s at a blue chip school prospect day. Love it!
