Wellington, Chicago and Antarctica were all pretty windy. It’s windy in Los Angeles now, but also there are fires so I would not recommend.

Not funny

Whatchutalkinaboutwillis. That was bloody hilarious.

I loved Ottawa and met so many wonderful locals who thought I was nuts to be raving about their city. I think, like you, my low expectations came into play, but it was just beautiful around the holidays the year I went. Lights, people skating in the river, great food and drink, friendliness.

Hmm.....I'm planning a trip to the fjords in Western Norway and surprised/concerned not to see Norway listed more.

For me:
Angkor Wat
Sulawesi
Alhambra with every flower in bloom
Lavender fields in Provence
Kyoto
Cannon Beach, OR
Rocky Mountains
Cinque Terre
Inle Lake, Burma

Yeah, also this seems to be blown away by literally every single place theyve ever been to. Seems like theyre easily impressed. If this was a "just live places you've travelled to" thread most people would be rattling off a long list of places as well

Helsinki blew you away? I mean it’s a cute, quaint little city on the water but I wouldn’t call it awe-inspiring (IMO).

Good point. Just realized that DC is on the list too!

I think listing whole cities or countries is not very helpful. At least boil it down to a region or neighborhood! Maybe the national mall in DC blew you away but I guarantee that the corner of 22 and N did not. Or the corner of K and 10th. Or ….
