Plan to someday go back in the summer to see some of the others and enjoy the coast/cliff walk.

I have seen all of these mansions in the summer, which were lovely! Definitely plan a visit then too. I will have to go back during the holidays, thanks for the tip!

We actually spent the week after Christmas up there -- home base of Mystic, CT (always wanted to see it as I loved the movie Mystic Pizza). Stayed across from very quaint "Old Mystic Village". We did a day trip to Newport, RI. Next time will stay in Newport hopefully.

Oh - and checked off another bucket list item by having dinner at Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen - at the Foxwood casino just north of Mystic.
