We visited the ones open and decorated for the holidays:
The Elms
Marble House
Rosecliff
The Breakers (the most opulent one of all)

Plan to someday go back in the summer to see some of the others and enjoy the coast/cliff walk.

I have seen all of these mansions in the summer, which were lovely! Definitely plan a visit then too. I will have to go back during the holidays, thanks for the tip!

We actually spent the week after Christmas up there -- home base of Mystic, CT (always wanted to see it as I loved the movie Mystic Pizza). Stayed across from very quaint "Old Mystic Village". We did a day trip to Newport, RI. Next time will stay in Newport hopefully.

Oh - and checked off another bucket list item by having dinner at Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen - at the Foxwood casino just north of Mystic.

Denali National Park. There is something about the vastness of inhabited areas of Alaska that just blows you away.

Bioluminescent bays in Puerto Rico. Kayaked them at night, and it was magical.

This sounds great! Could you tell me how you arranged it, please?

I’m an architect so the things that blow me away lean toward the built environment.
