| Have her wear the wide leg trouser pants that are in style now. Abercrombie and Jcrew both have cute ones. Hairy legs will be covered! |
|
| Nowadays people have half shaved/half blue hair and enough metal in their face to set off a metal detector. I think she will be fine. |
| It wouldn’t likely be in the dress code so she’s not in danger of being disciplined for it. Depends on how much she would be bothered by the looks of others. |

Moms that tell their confident teen girls to shave are in some crazy psycho category.
Like just real crappy inferior moms judge their daughters based on superficial BS. |
I bet you are super successful. You sound totally sane and smart. |
DP. Your seem bizarrely competitive about your career success. Surely the person you are talking down to (in a way that suggests you aren’t overly professional yourself) works with clients - probably more than you do in your “C suite” (also something people with actual professional power don’t brag about). |
You are so old you can’t even quote properly. |

I think this is one of those situations that a lot of women have convinced themselves they'll never climb the ladder if they don't do XYZ. But since most people do XYZ, there is no proof that not doing it will hinder them.
A lot of people mistaking their own standards and judgment for others. Or for some kind of corporate "law." It is not bratty or entitled for the teen to not want to shave. It just is. |
+1 If she chooses not to listen and learn through the school of hard knocks, that's fine. Not the end of the world. I hope you say 'I told you so' afterwards. |

Men have hairy legs and always wear pants.

I told you so? Man, you all are petty. And what on earth will be the consequences that this high school student will learn? If she’s not management by the end of senior year, it’s clearly because of the hair on her legs? |
Men also don’t wear makeup or heels or get blowouts to “look successful,” so if we’re going to make everything even, let’s cut that sh*t out, too. If this really an issue for some offices, they need to write “long pants only” into the policy. |

She is right. It’s normal for any human body to have hair, and it is her choice to wear whatever she wants within the dress code of the company, and she is free to choose whether or not to shave any part of her body.
People may think that’s odd, or may not like to look at her legs (which, um, fine, they shouldn’t be focused on her body anyway), and that’s part of life, so there ya go. What they can’t do is take any sort of discriminatory action, but that seems unlikely in 2024 when face tattoos, men wearing dresses, nose piercings, no hosiery, and fewer suits and ties are all Things That Happen. |
