The show on Frontline was good. It was a puff piece but a well done puff piece. |
Just to point out that there are fewer migrants coming from El Salvador, Guatemal, and Honduras than 20 years ago when El Salvador was in the throes of a civil war. Migrants from many other countries are using the southern border as a quick entry to the US. The NYT had a good piece last week about an Asian family who came through the Southern border because it was the best way to get into the country. Clearly the Biden White House does not understand who is entering the country or they would have broadened Harris's mandate. |
Not according to the migration policy institute. 20 years ago the population was 2 million. Now it's 3.8 million. https://www.migrationpolicy.org/article/central-american-immigrants-united-states-2021 "Much of the recent migration has been irregular. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) encountered nationals of the four largest Central American sending countries (El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua) at the U.S.-Mexico border 109,100 times in fiscal year (FY) 2020, a number that increased to about 705,500 in FY 2022. In the first six months of FY 2023, there were about 287,300 border encounters of these nationals. Between October 2019 and March 2023, nationals of these four countries accounted for nearly one-third of all 5.8 million migrant encounters at the southern border." |
I don’t think Harris wants her help. Harris was handed the candidacy by Biden and has now all but frozen them out of her campaign. No gratitude among politicians, apparently. |
Trump still talks about him. |
Sad but true. |
He’s wildly unpopular. If she wants to win, he needs to stay away. If he cares about the country, over his ego, he will abide. Also: he’s too old to campaign. He was too old for his campaign. He is still too old to campaign for her. |
Biden’s interview with Robert Costa is everything I’ve ever loved about him and more: acting in the best service of his country. A true statesman. History will look upon him favorably for his stepping aside to save our country. Love the pictures of him on the beach and biking! He’s earned a bit of r and r for his work to bring Americans home and for his many days and nights of work over the many years he’s been a public servant. He’ll finish his term strong and then hopefully have many, many more days on the beach and biking. |
He'll be ranked behind Jimmy Carter. And, he did NOT step aside. He was forced aside. He was threatened with the 25th amendment if he didn't step down. He had no choice. And, he is hardly finishing his term strong. One event and 2 phone calls last week is not strong. Meanwhile, Iran is threatening and high prices are affecting the lives of Americans. And, we had a base attacked with 6 or 7 service members critically injured. Crickets from Joe and Kamala. Biden goes to the beach. |
If it weren't for him, the attacks on Ukraine and Israel would never have happened. He transmitted weakness from a disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan just like he did when he was the only one against killing Bin Laden. He's gotten a lot of people killed and democrats have miscalculated just how much Russia and China have and will take advantage of advertising our weakness.
It's unforgivable. |
I like my president strong, silent and drama free. He doesn't need to call attention to himself and whine about crowd size every day. |
He says he is campaigning with her this week. |
Well. One out of three ain't bad, I guess. You got "silent." He is very hard to hear when he talks. |
