Evan Gershkovich and Paul Whelan released

Why waste our time on Trump’s deranged spoutings?

I read about how this deal came together. It took a functioning American govt team with clear leadership from the top. It required our allies ( who respected our president).

Such an uplifting outcome.

Those families had to wait until Biden and Harris first greet them. Shame on them!

This move by Putin is so transparent.

If Putin was so smart, then why didn't he release these people to help the optics for Trump.

Heck, he would have released them the day after Trump suggested it a month ago and it would have boosted him.

No, Putin sees the writing on the wall and did what he could to get these people back into the motherland before he had no more leverage.

Putin has said many times that he prefers Biden over Trump, and this presumably extends to Harris. His logic is sound, Biden is predictable and Trump is not. Why wouldn't he do something to keep Trump out?

The GOP is now salty that American citizens were released from a hostile regime?

No, they’re salty because Biden got it done. Trump told majority to block immigration reform bill because he needed it to campaign. Same with getting hostages released. Claimed he could do it without a swap. Biden: Why didn’t he do it when he was President?

this photo is perfect

Speaking of Putin, he seems pretty pleased with this exchange. Chalk this up as a win-win. More to come?

Love this. In the paperwork Getshkovich was forced to fill out he asked for a sit-down interview with Putin. The guy is a boss.

Three of the four released were taken during Biden’s term. But Biden probably doesn’t know this.

And do some research about what was exchanged when Trump got hostages back. (Hint: nothing)

Do you just say this kind of nonsense to see if it will stick? Or do you really believe it? Hint: because Trump claims something doesn’t make it true. Often makes it false.

Yes, Trump got some prisoners freed (which is excellent).

No, none of Trump’s deals required the type of coalition building among allies that Biden was able to put together.

No, Biden did not pay cash for his deal. Neither did Trump.

Of course Trump’s deals included exchanges (just like Biden’s deals). How could you imagine otherwise?

Trump didn't actually want Evan released, he wants journalists in prison.

When I see this type of comment I know it says more about the total ignorance and idiocy of the poster than it says about the candidate.

Your jealously is shining brightly. Not a good look.

Meanwhile Marc Fogal (not a journalist) remains in prison after Trump met with his mother...

I thought the US was giving them asylum, in an effort to foster democracy around the world?
Jokes aside they are so useless he can afford to let them go

Medvedev said he would have them assassinated. The quote was something like good luck to them with their new names and witness protection program, we will find them. I don’t think these folks are likely to go into hiding in that way but they will spend the rest of Putin’s regime being careful who they sit next to at a bus stop, and keeping good locks on their stuff.
