| Larry Hogan supporter here. I love what I'm seeing in this thread. The democrat ideological purity tests never fail. Here in republican land, we band together and realize that the goal is bigger than our differences. And we show up to vote no matter how much we might dislike the candidate. |
I know what I am getting when I vote Republican. |

For those who never heard it you must not have seen Police Academy

| It's hilarious that people come in here and parade their own ignorance as a way to absolve the use of a racist term. |
No one is making excuses. He admitted and apologized. Move on. What is absurd here is those calling him an outright racist for misspeaking?? |
I did see it 40 years ago and didn’t remember that scene (didn’t remember much from the movie except that guy who could make funny sounds and that steve Gutenberg starred). I’d guess very few people under 50 have seen it. |
But only about 1 out of 5 Black Democratic voters would vote for Alsobrooks. PG is a sorry proving ground for a governor. |
After May 14, we might need to choose between Trone and Hogan. But until then we can choose between Trone and Alsobrooks. (I am undecided but currently leaning toward Alsobrooks.) FWIW, I do think this is a tempest in a teapot. There is no context in which Trone was trying to denigrate anyone, and it is a very plausible verbal miscue. |

DP. I mean, let's be real. If he was a Republican and had made the same mistake, this thread would be hundreds of pages long, excoriating him for his "racism" and calling for his resignation. And you know this to be true. |
While your opinion might be the same, this is about a Senate race — which might require different political calculations. Hogan with a Democratic state legislature is not quite the same as adding another Republican to the Senate. |
Party before country. At least you’re honest. Even when differences are about deeply unethical behavior, Republicans do band together. |
At least with Trump I know this to be false. Trump would not behave like Trone and admit what he said and apologize. Trump would either deny he ever said it or blame the "radical left, Marxist, anarchist, Antifa" press for reporting it. |
We know what Trump is. There's no filter. There's no hidden agenda. There is no 4D chess going on. BTW, this thread is about Trone. |
Thank you!!! It gets boring. It's a distraction that derails progress. Sure if someone is saying terrible things IN context or more damaging - acting out terrible things, pay attention. I had to find the word which I heard first (& only) in 1 of the songs in Spike Lee's movie School Daze. |
